adziki··on CRAPCHA: Completely Ridiculous And Phony Captcha that Hassles for Amusement
this is somehow easier than some CAPCHAs I've seen...
adziki··on BlackBerry 10 Pre - Super Bowl Commercial
would have been a better idea for RIM to reinvent themselves once they started getting serious competition back in 2007, not as their last ditch effort to avoid bankruptcy.
adziki··on Ask HN: How can so many people be wrong?
of those brains, how many are actually analyzing the problem, vs just regurgitating information posed by someone else?
adziki··on Ask HN: Why does Google allocate over 60% of their space to nothing?
you could ask why does Facebook feel the need to fill every inch of the screen, even when it results in a non-chronological timeline

god, black on that orange is so hard to read
adziki··on Ask HN: Being a manager while programming
going through this right now. It's tough. The great managers I've worked under in the past were pretty much 100% managers. whenever they had delusions that they could pick up a small coding task, they'd end up being brought off task by managerial duties and would delay the rest of development. Obviously, different people can balance this, and every company is different.
adziki··on Senior Software Developer Syndrome
When I started my job as a fresh-out-of-college SW Engineer, one of the more senior guys there suggested I read The Psychology of Computer Programming (I later went on to find out that this co-worker had some editor credits in it), which talks about ego-less programming. I did adopt a lot of the message in my work style, though I feel it goes a little far by suggesting an engineer not say statements like "I believe that..." or "I think this is better". I think that there's some amount of ownership, excitement, and conviction in an engineer's approach that adds to the project's success. There's definitely the chance that this goes over the line, and then I see examples such as in the article above ("oh, I've been here before so I know why this approach is the best so I don't need to value your opinion). Good read.

adziki··on Help a hacker out
trying to get out of the fusion into a Focus ST. The Fusion's great, especially in the winter, I just miss the manual transmission hot-hatch world. If you know someone looking, please forward this around.
adziki··on Is '10' a magical number or I am missing something?
mathemagical
adziki··on Why small teams are good for startups
so we're back to lines of code being a good metric? I would think that as a product grows that you probably don't need to just keep adding code

adziki··on I Up Vote Every 'Show HN' Post and You Should Too
A) That's awesome. B) It's sad to look at the points for those posts, maybe due to the lack of visibility or the idea, but 2, 1, 4, 10, 2 ,3,3, 1,2, 2, 1, 85 (oooh)
adziki··on I Up Vote Every 'Show HN' Post and You Should Too
that's an interesting issue. wonder if it'd be useful (or just abused) to have a "Show HN" link-filter on top for people who are interested in those kinds of posts (which I'm hoping to Show NH something soon too, so certainly a biased opinion)
adziki··on Pizza Cook job listing at Apple
so they have to make the dough, prep the sauce and toppings, stretch the dough, cook the pizzas? Is this a team of one?
adziki··on "We'll pay you $1,500 per year to drop your LinkedIn account"
I think it's a tough sell as networking can also help companies to broaden horizons, make new business leads, and grow. Is there any research into employees who leave based on LinkedIn contacts rather than just searching a dice.com or monster.com?
adziki··on OH NO YOU CANT
This "article" is pure speculation, and not even based on a real expression of opinion or data... RIM shouldn't and won't be bailed out, worst case bought out by Microsoft/Nokia/Palm/HP
adziki··on Google Announces Project Glass
oh man, someone needs to trademark iGlass NOW
adziki··on Ask HN: Need advice on quitting a job.
Have you voiced your concerns at work, would they be perceptive to increasing your tasks that you enjoy or not? if not, then I agree with the other commenter in that you should line up another opportunity first, unless you have enough resources to float around for a bit.

adziki··on You have $200. How do you drive mobile app installs?
cool thanks for the tip
adziki··on You have $200. How do you drive mobile app installs?
Good question, my company released a pretty specific app into the big 3 earlier this year, and have seen a whopping 10 installs. Granted, it's a pretty niche app (leadership development for corporate ethics), but I have been wondering the best way to really market this to the casual market-goer who might also fit this niche.
adziki··on HTML5 rotary tech demo
The best part of this demo is that hitting shift that much make windows prompt me for Sticky Keys. Seriously, how many people have ever said YES to that.
adziki··on Ask HN: Siri and data sent to servers
+1 for knowing where it's used. the tradeoff for privacy vs data ownership is something that I can argue on both sides for. If Siri was a service that was $10 a year, I'd want that data not stored. If it's free, someone's gotta pay for it. If they can pay for the service while truly anonymously storing the info, so be it.
