Whereas "all the power stations in the UK" keep on trucking, day in, day out, year after year.
So, like you say, it shouldn't take away from the rights of others. Just pay the prisoners just like you'd pay any other worker regardless of the kind of job.
So it's because everyone does it that it's "ok", then?
Or because you think it's better than "rotting in a cell"?
Whatever man. The issue is that the labour is _forced_. Give prisoners a choice to work or not and pay them, at market value, for their work.
If you're against choice and pay for prisoners you really shouldn't be embarrassed to just go ahead and call it what it is: slavery.
It literally shows each comment in full that it extracted the book name from. It also includes a link to the comment in the original thread. What more could you possibly want?
Monorail trains (like at the airport)
Combine Harvesters
Airplane Autopilot/autoland
Elevators
Aside: is Moderation as a Service the new shovel to be sold during the gold rush?
Seems to me the post wasn't even claiming to have >$1M ARR either (there was a graph for the creators ARR which I think is different?) and that everyone does work... they just do it using a non-traditional process.
edit: There's this: https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=25675713 which might point to >$1M ARR?
edit 2: I also realized in a business like this ARR just doesn't matter (who cares? You're not trying to raise another round or IPO). https://twitter.com/shl/status/1215673023472140289 shows the net profit and it amounts to 1 senior engineer's salary. That's amazing for a small business with a small number of employees but it's not exactly living high off the hog.
You're implying "worrying about" or wanting to know what the monthly payment is on a loan is a bad thing and I don't understand why.
That the unions and local governments are attempting to ensure a business isn't extorting labor out of the population is a _good_ thing.
Yeah, it sucks that taxis aren't cheap and also pay drivers well. It also sucks that we don't have light rail going everywhere. In both cases the implementation is just not economical. Therefore we need a different solution that doesn't sacrifice people at the altar of convenience
