Trouble is you'd be scooping up 90% of boys in a certain race, class, age bracket, because those ballys and bikes and Nike tech are effectively fashion at this point even if you're doing nothing wrong. And if that's the case you don't need AI you can just wait outside the school gates and arrest everyone.
This is not the same. If everyone wants mowed lawns, and everyone is busy working on that, there is no opportunity cost, everyone is working on their top priorities. The broken window fallacy is a fallacy because the headline gdp figure doesn't account for the destruction of the window which cancels out the benefit. In the grass mowing analogy nothing has been destroyed, useful and priority work has been done all around.
The comments in the other post on this topic had an article which slammed Sagan's book for being outdated and espousing debunked triune Brian theory. The article was called "your brain is not an onion with a lizard inside".
If you live in what sounds like the desert and you're constantly watering your trees, it might be the case that you've picked non-native species that don't handle heat well. Check out the crime pays but botany doesn't on YouTube, he does a lot of videos about this, people in Texas etc planting English oaks and needing to water them all the time while native species are ignored or cut down because they're "messy".
You've never heard of Ozempic? It's not a silicon valley thing, it's made by Novo Nordisk, Denmark's second biggest company, and Ozempic is partly why they're so big.
I don't even know any more. I wanted a weather bapp that shows the whole forecast on one page with no scrolling, so I was ambitious and asked anti-gravity to build one for me. Half an hour later, done. Then I asked codex to review it and half the stuff didn't even work, made up wind gust data, misaligned hourly data, polluted caches. So I asked codex to fix the issues. Did it? I don't even know, it said it did.
This is not an argument for global warming, but do bear in mind that cold kills far more and on balance global warming has saved lives here. The issue is going to cause worse problems than heat deaths though. However, a big wet bulb event could completely reverse that count.
The BBC hasn't been cut in the name of austerity. It isn't funded by general taxation it's funded by the licence fee, which has only risen, however not in line with inflation. This is basically because nobody wants to pay it, and indeed a huge number of people have stopped paying it.
