adamjleonard··on I’m Not “Black Enough” for Inc. Magazine
I love Brian Brackeen. Very smart guy!
adamjleonard··on Introducing 'waves': a Common Lisp audio synthesizer
It's so magical and lispy it doesn't exist
adamjleonard··on Learn ObjectiveC or Swift for creating social media apps like Instagram/Snapchat
Learning Swift is definitely much easier in my opinion. There are some oddities though that come from the world of Objective-C, but I believe it's pretty easy to understand regardless.

Also something you need to keep in mind is that there is a lot of server-side infrastructure that handles these Social Media apps. The apps just serve up the content for the most part. The server-side aspect of things is doing all the interesting work.

adamjleonard··on A Better Way to Learn Swift: Build Modern iOS Apps
I would go with yes. It's much easier language to learn and understand as a beginner. The hardest part is learning all the iOS libraries to be honest.
adamjleonard··on A Better Way to Learn Swift: Build Modern iOS Apps
It will be the way to go in the upcoming years!
adamjleonard··on New co-living space for startups on Rhodes Island
I would love to find someone willing to actually split a place for a month + time. I'd even be willing to do a suite!
adamjleonard··on Swift Toolbox – community-supported catalog of iOS and OS X libraries
Yep, going to look in to this in the near future. Going to talk to someone at CocoaPods on Friday.
adamjleonard··on Swift Toolbox – community-supported catalog of iOS and OS X libraries
Seems to be quite a few in regards to the functional world. Underscore has a port over and a couple others that mimic this.
adamjleonard··on Swift Toolbox – community-supported catalog of iOS and OS X libraries
It would be acceptable. We will be adding the ability for the repo owner to manage the entire project, but also the community will be able to add extra tags, etc. These are in the upcoming weeks as we iterate on it.
adamjleonard··on Swift Toolbox – community-supported catalog of iOS and OS X libraries
We would love to hear your feedback. This project is very MVP and definitely has some issues that we will be iterating on over the next week.

Any features you would like to see, let us know. We plan on adding a much nicer view for all the libraries with more information. The ability to the community to add tags to existing libraries, and more.

Hope you guys enjoy!

adamjleonard··on Ask HN: What is the fastest way to learn C++? I have a exam in 10 days.
Find a time machine, go back in time, and actually learn C++.

adamjleonard··on Show HN: Rate our Craigslist Application idea
Yeah, it's definitely appreciated!
adamjleonard··on Show HN: Rate our Craigslist Application idea
Yeah, from what I know it's been a problem. I think because of this we will release it as a free application to start off on and see how things go.

Time can only time I guess?

adamjleonard··on Why did TermKit die?
I'm also sad it's died, it was quite a neat concept and project.
adamjleonard··on Ask HN: Would an interactive resume be good?
I've found that my interactive resume has been really praised upon, so it seems it does work. You will need a doc version of it as some people do require it. I would give it a try, have a designer make it look pretty and you are all set! (If you aren't a designer yourself)
adamjleonard··on PHP MD5 Secure login script.

adamjleonard··on BostonRB - September - Test Driven Development [VIDEOS]
Awesome ! I'm always interested in watching TDD presentations. I've been meaning to watch some of the BostonRB presentations and now this has given me another reason.
adamjleonard··on For those that build web applications, do you use a framework
Existing frameworks remove a lot of the problems that come with attempting to roll your own code all the time. From security to just making things simpler.

I would suggest usually using a framework when you can.

adamjleonard··on CakePHP Website Returning HTTP Error 502
Time to learn a new framework! Down for me also
