abeh··on Ask HN: My wife needs something to do from home to make money...
SEO consulting - it can be learned relatively quickly, is not that technical for the basics, and is a great complement to your programming/web expertise for your projects
abeh··on Google is making a huge and annoying mistake
Does not seem like a UX issue, but rather a business decision.
abeh··on Startups Are Bands for Hackers
There is one really important shared aspect: the point at which all the members of the band/startup decide to go for it - make a serious commitment.
abeh··on Demonstrating responsive design to clients.
Also, if this page itself was responsive would be nice: resizing the browser would select the appropriate view.
abeh··on Demonstrating responsive design to clients.
Great idea. One improvement might be to make the mobile view look more like a mobile device; now it looks very much like the tablet. Perhaps the borders (sides in portrait, top and bottom in landscape) could be thinner.
abeh··on Ask HN: Is there a particular metric for your startup that you track daily?
Is that all users? or just paying users? For profit, do you look at gross or net, or both? If you could only look at one of those for a day, which would you choose?
abeh··on EMI music is sold to Universal. We're down to three major labels.
I think http://bandcamp.com/ seems to be along those lines.
abeh··on Why Can't We Drink Sea Water?
A university biology professor mentioned in a lecture that a small percentage of people have kidneys strong enough to drink sea water.
abeh··on Currency.io, a html5 currency converter - open sourced to learn from
Perfect domain name!
abeh··on 15,000 more monthly signups just by changing the name of my webapp.
Perhaps with the long generic word name, the site was perceived more as a 'website' while the shortened unique one is now perceived as a 'web app'.
abeh··on Poll: Did you get into YC for S11?
I guess it is obvious, but even more clear would be: "Did you get invited for an interview at YC for S11?". Also, does anybody know how many teams are invited for an interview, and how many from those are finally offered YC funding/participation?
abeh··on Georgify: Hacker News meets beautiful typography
Very nice to look at, well done.

A couple of points for me are that:

1. While it is easier to read, the combination of the larger size of the text and the vertical spacing makes it harder to scan all the topics quickly, as was possible without this style.

2. as already mentioned, the info sub-text is a bit soft in contrast and hard to read quickly, even though it looks nice. Suggestion: make the important info such as the numbers and username a bit more darker, but leave the repeated info such as 'points by' and 'comments' as they are.
