abba_fishhead··on Ask HN: FBI showed up at my house this morning. What to do?
Thanks for the response.

1. I post worse. I quote the Qur'an directly (verses on violence, sexism, slavery) and receive death threats in return!

2. If it means little, why even make the trip to my home?

3. Good to know that too.

4. I don't know anything about anyone, so how can I even be an informant?

5. Not even sure what "house bulbs" or "ephedrine" are... so I guess I'm safe?

abba_fishhead··on Ask HN: FBI showed up at my house this morning. What to do?
I've been trying real hard to find for info on the FBI.gov website, but I can't find any information on the officers.

I'm not going to incriminate myself publicly, but let's just say .torrent files exist on my PC.

Well, one thing I know is that the less you talk to law enforcement, the less you incriminate yourself. So calling is out. And we all have secrets, e.g. downloading illegal IP for sure...
abba_fishhead··on Ask HN: Starting a porn startup
Well, I recently launched my paperback book, and I sold 500 copies in two weeks from my page alone, and I'm going on the second print run already. That's not a lot, but it covers my cost, and then more. I have a special situation (small loyal following) that might just tilt profitability in my favor.

I have female friends who've expressed interest in shooting with me ($500), and I've already had several offers at $250 for the filmographers. Add some miscellaneous here and there, and let's call the expenditure $1,000.

I can sell it for $10 pay-per-view/downloadable, maybe $12 for Full HD version. I don't think it's impossible to cover my cost given the strength of my following.

As for legality, I've acted before twice for studios, and I had the opportunity to see how they do things. It's not the best guarantee, but I'll definitely seek a lawyer's advice when the time comes. Thanks for that heads-up.

abba_fishhead··on Ask HN: Just want to make $1,000/mo from my SaaS, competing on price?
I certainly cannot compete on features, and saying that I'll compete on "design"/"ease-of-use" is trivial; it's the execution that's hard. I could target only restaurants, and customize my entire software for it to serve it better, but there are already solutions out there doing it to appeal more to the restaurateurs.

In other words, I don't know what my competitive advantage will be should I decide to enter this market, yet I know this market pretty well based on my first-hand experiences.

abba_fishhead··on Ask HN: Iwant to start a new SaaS startup, but I don't have a bank account
I've worked in restaurants before, so I want to create a scheduling app. Nothing fancy, just something less cluttered than current solutions. But thanks, I'll start working on the app first.
abba_fishhead··on Ask HN: Iwant to start a new SaaS startup, but I don't have a bank account
I do have a bank account in my prior country, but currency exchange rates aren't favorable, because I'll be collecting money in USD, depositing it in my local currency, and then taking another currency exchange hit when I withdraw from an ATM in the US.
