aatharuv··on Microsoft finds privilege escalation vulnerability in Huawei driver
The Epoch Times has a very anti-PRC political stance. I've seen sensationalism in their reporting on the PRC.

It's understandable though, given their affiliation with the persecuted Falun Gong.

(Looks like the original URL has been changed to an actual Microsoft authored page.)

As a vegetarian, I'll testify to that.

Same here. McDonalds has long had veggie burgers available outside the US, most notably in India, but also in many of the (Arabian|Persian) Gulf countries.
aatharuv··on The world's major religions in one map
I suspect a better way to have divied up at least China and Japan would have been

"Mixture of Buddhism, Taoism, Confucianism and Chinese folk religion" - China "Mixture of Buddhism and Shintoism" - Japan

aatharuv··on The world's major religions in one map
The map is pretty Abrahamo-centric. It separates out Judaism, but clumps Sikhism, Taoism, Confucianism, and Shinto into "other", all of which certainly have many more adherents.

aatharuv··on China destroys 30k ‘incorrect’ world maps, claims Indian terrority
Note that India is similarly picky about maps concerning territory it doesn't control, though admittedly, it's happy with censoring maps or having people print disclaimers, and doesn't destroy them completely.

Economist maps showing the India/Pakistan/China boundaries in Kashmir are regularly censored.

Any country which claims land needs to never give up its claim as a bargaining chip. India and China just go to extremes over it including privately produced content.

How do you know that? Did you ask everyone their citizenship /immigration status during the interview?
aatharuv··on Venezuela devalues the bolivar by 95% and pegs it to ‘oil-linked’ cryptocurrency
One important thing to note is that the _official_ rate that has been devalued, from 250,000 Bolivares/USD to 6 million Bolivares/USD.

The black market rate is already reportedly (as of the past couple of days), 6 million - 9 million Bolivares/USD.

aatharuv··on Ransom: Routing Around Nation-States
TLS isn't sufficient. There was at least one country, Kazakhstan, which had a plan to force all of its citizens to install their own CA to MITM all SSL traffic. (I'm not sure if the plan ever got implemented because the original government press release now 404's).

Even in the Gulf countries, in many contexts, expat is used as a synonym for "white people", or at least people from rich countries. I used to live in Kuwait. In other countries it refers to any foreigners.
aatharuv··on Neighbourly by Google
Maths is perfectly standard Indian or British English.

The neighborhood mentioned in the screen shots, "Andheri East" is in Mumbai. Mumbai's lingua franca is Hindi, and Marathi is the state language of Maharashtra which Mumbai is the capital of, so it seems likely that they're starting the rollout in Mumbai, given that these are two of the language choices.
