_tb1_··on Two self-driving startups team up to build a different kind of Lidar
This looks very promising. A more robust lidar based on some pretty simple scientific principles.

_tb1_··on Uber Drivers Are Contractors, Not Employees, Labor Board Says
I agree that everyone is biased. But there has just been an incredible amount of debate on this issue. For OP to state that he's discovered the solution is a bit disingenuous.

Here's another source. There really is a lot: https://www.naic.org/documents/topics_interstate_sales_myths...

_tb1_··on Uber Drivers Are Contractors, Not Employees, Labor Board Says
Doesn't OP have the responsibility to at least admit that his main suggestion is extremely common and well researched, and to explain what gives him special insight or authority?

Why should we trust them vs a random HN commenter?

_tb1_··on Uber Drivers Are Contractors, Not Employees, Labor Board Says
Well, it's a common talking point. Have you looked into it? It's an honest question, who has the onus of responsibility for research? OP or me?

Suggestion 1 has been looked at. They've found it doesn't work.
_tb1_··on Amazon can already ship to 72% of US population in a day, map shows
You know, if Brick & Mortars entered some sort of alliance, they could ship same day deliveries to an equally large chunk of the population.
_tb1_··on Tether Says Stablecoin Is Only Backed 74% by Cash, Securities
I find this pretty interesting. On the one hand, it's similar to the situation a lot of lenders are in. But on the other hand Tether isn't owed that money back as far as I understand it. You also have the fact that a lot of crypto people are very against fractional reserve.
_tb1_··on Show HN: Made an AI to Write News Headlines Like Fox News, CNN, Breitbart etc.
Interesting idea. Is there a description of the tech behind it somewhere? Also, seemed to take a while to generate, not sure if it's getting stressed with visitors.
_tb1_··on They think they are above the law: the firms who own America's voting system
But people can always take a photo, it's illegal, but so is buying votes.
_tb1_··on Is Amazon Violating U.S. Antitrust Laws?
That Bork theory is nutty. Imagine thinking that businesses don't take calculated risks. There is a conveyor belt of judges supported and moved forward by big money corporate interests.
_tb1_··on I Sell Onions on the Internet
It's absurd and preposterous. I love it!
