What tool do you use for your diagramming, is it all hand-drawn?
Again, it's an exciting field with a lot of really good outcomes, but it kind of plays into the whole, "what if something happens to your kid fear" to sell it to people, instead of thinking about all the other kids that you could be saving.
It's awesome that you are giving back though, Hawaii has got to be a really fascinating and challenging case study for conservation vs. consumerism.
We're at 3x the total population that existed when europeans started settling here, and without an appropriate way to cull the herd I don't see that changing. We have milder winters (so no starvation), less interest in hunting, and again a lack of natural predators.
I understand that expecting some sort of big shift in how we live is not feasible, it's just a shame.
For instance — white-tailed deer are growing exponentially, eating all the underbrush and outcompeting other animals, and they have no/few natural predators left.
I agree that not much has changed since the 80s, I think it's just catching up to us now.
It makes me wonder how much worse it actually is. Is looks like most of these were initially listed in the 80s, not too long after Endangered Species Act passed.
Is there some sort of time limit before they officially declare something extinct?
That's not an insignificant sum of money, I see that they didn't take further rounds, but still this feels like a nice marketing piece with a bad headline.
I don't know of a lot of young people who use the platform still, they've all gone off to TikTok or Instagram(still FB I know).
I wasn't sure which one to get but after upgrading the memory to 16GB the cost difference is pretty inconsequential between the two.
I would definitely be interested to learn more about approaching VCs at the pre-seed/seed stage & pre-revenue/product market fit. Some questions I would love to see answered:
How do you raise money in stealth mode? (not saying that stealth mode is good, but it's crazy that people raise large sums of money before having a public facing product).
How do you get in front of VCs who haven't heard of you yet? This seems a bit easier in a Series A round as your investors can talk to your seed investors and there's probably a crunchbase page of your company.
How do you give your business a valuation before it's launched? I've been struggling a lot with this one, I've ran through the TAM/SAM/SOM but honestly feels like a shot in the dark still.
