_1tan··on Neki – Sharded Postgres
Cool, but we're on MySQL - anything similar available? Percona XtraDB?
_1tan··on Solving the 1+N Query Problem
Heavy Hibernate user here, Hibernate does not make it impossible to write N+1 queries afaik - unless there are some tips we're missing in our team?

We just regularly check our slow queries dashboard, fix it (or well let an LLM work on it) and then move on.

_1tan··on Pgtestdb's template cloning approach to testing is fast
Anything similar possible with MySQL?

We run an explicit whitelist, enforced through Microsoft Entra (or was it Intune).
_1tan··on GitLab Service Disruption
Still no worky for us.

What‘s used instead of MCP in reality? Just REST or other existing API things?
_1tan··on Databases in 2025: A Year in Review
Percona I suppose?
_1tan··on Go Proposal: Secret Mode
Seems neat, anything similar in Java?
_1tan··on Ask HN: Good resources to learn financial systems engineering?
I am mainly working on B2B message exchange, e.g. via AS4/EDIFACT/ebix/CIM files and most parties seem to still work with a lot of batch processing. With the ongoing digitization of e.g. metering hardware and faster settlement times in the energy markets (EU-centric) I think this might not cut it anymore in the future.

Thanks!
_1tan··on At the end you use `git bisect`
Can you elaborate on the dependent .gitattributes file? Where can I find more information on the necessary content? Sounds super useful!
_1tan··on SourceFS: A 2h+ Android build becomes a 15m task with a virtual filesystem
I want this but self hosted/integrated into our CI (Gitlab in our case).
_1tan··on High-performance read-through cache for object storage
Can someone explain when this would be good solution? We currently store loads of files in S3 and directly ingest them on demand in our Java app API pods. Seems interesting if we could speed up retrievals for sure.
_1tan··on Launch HN: Ghostship (YC S25) – AI agents that find bugs in your web app
We use Gitlab. Is that planned?
_1tan··on I solved a distributed queue problem after 15 years
We're a MySQL/Hibernate shop. Anything similar possible with that stack?
_1tan··on Supporting org.apache.xml.security in graalVM
Weird coincidence. I work on a software cryptographic module and we worked on this exact same thing today and came to a similar solution.
_1tan··on Broadcom to discontinue free Bitnami Helm charts
Are there any indications or just a feel?
_1tan··on Show HN: SuperUtilsPlus – A Modern Alternative to Lodash
We use es-toolkit to replace Lodash - how would you compare your library?

We just migrated a React app with around 500k LOC and this worked quite well and flawless.

_1tan··on Ask HN: Books/guides/resources about running a public, web CA?
Indeed I do. We run a SaaS in a regulated industry, mainly in Germany. To receive and transmit certain payloads we need to use dedicated TLS certificates from a government run PK infrastructure (Search for "Smart-Meter PKI" if you are curious).

We want to become a sub-CA of this PKI and while we are aware of the policies of this specific PKI, we think that from an engineering or IT ops standpoint we can learn much more from web PKI CAs.

Just out of curiosity, has anyone here been able to find one of the sites where "the COM" convenes or am I too old to see?

Perhaps SCXML or Xstate?
_1tan··on Show HN: Tenno – Markdown and JavaScript = an Hybrid of Word and Excel

I was expecting something related to Seasteading before clicking the link. Anyone else?
_1tan··on Founder Mode
Is there a good resource on the management methods of Steve Jobs as indicated by the essay?
_1tan··on Ask HN: Are people out there still using XML Schema?
Heavily used within energy industry systems and standards we have to work with in Germany to integrate with. A couple of examples:

- Electronic delivery receipts for metering hardware (from standard body)

- API spec for smart meter interfacing software (from vendor, feels legacy-like)

- API to interact with official sub-CAs (from government authority)

- Definitions for EDIFACT files (from standard body)
