Youcandothis··on America’s social-media addiction is getting worse
A quick search gave me the information that death by suicide is going down. If there is an increase in anxiety and depression, I see no reason to blame social media. If used in a good way, social media make us feel well.

Anxiety, depression and suicides are nothing new. I don't blame on either ordinary or online social interaction. Instead I think social interaction is healthy, given it has a good quality, whether it's online or not.

"I want to help people put tech down and plug back into the world"

But they are plugged to the world, and more so than in the past when they were limited to people around them, books, newspapers etc.

Youcandothis··on America’s social-media addiction is getting worse
It's strange that people still believe in internet addiction.

I don't think they are paid for having money. When saving money in a bank, you don't have the money. The bank has it, and you are being paid for letting them have your money.
Youcandothis··on Portugal’s radical drugs policy is working (2017)
If drugs were legal I imagine that other than the cartels would produce and sell the drugs. Maybe big pharma and the tobacco industry.

Youcandothis··on Electric cars: New vehicles to emit noise to aid safety
I think you do get a lot of information from lasers on the road. At my job the fork lift trucks have blue lasers and it works very well.
Youcandothis··on Electric cars: New vehicles to emit noise to aid safety
Probably a lot can be done to help safety without adding noise. Maybe something as simple as warning signs for silent cars can help.
Youcandothis··on Electric cars: New vehicles to emit noise to aid safety
I don't think noise is necessary. It's only that people are used to noise. I usually wear sound isolating earphones outdors, so I don't hear cars as much now. But to compensate for that I look more around. That's something everyone could learn. Exception is those that are blind, but I think they should be able to get some help from technology to warn them from cars.
Youcandothis··on Electric cars: New vehicles to emit noise to aid safety
I harldy think we have evolved to react to car noises.

Hiring fairness sounds to me like the same as hiring for better outcomes and industry productivity.
Youcandothis··on Tesla will soon downgrade software on the entry-level Model 3
Software that limits hardware that is included in the car means to not use the best possible software.
Youcandothis··on Tesla will soon downgrade software on the entry-level Model 3
It's a waste to not give the best software possible to the car. In a car, a higher price is only natural if the car is more expensive to produce or develop.
Youcandothis··on Huawei Accused of Technology Theft
Do you really own a Huawei phone? I think anyone that do trust them to the same degree now as when they bought it.
Youcandothis··on Huawei Accused of Technology Theft
No, that would be stealing. But if you opened a TV and photographed it then it's not stealing.
Youcandothis··on Huawei Accused of Technology Theft
Most of this is not stealing, but instead copying and spying.
Youcandothis··on The Making of a YouTube Radical
But the idea with this algorithm was to expand peoples interestes. That should work against locking people into bubbles.

Youcandothis··on The guy who made a tool to track women in porn videos is sorry
There's a difference in being difficult to enforce and impossible to enforce. Laws like we are discussing here are enforceable enough.
Youcandothis··on The guy who made a tool to track women in porn videos is sorry
The right of privacy is violated if someone that wanted to stay anonomous is defamed. Doing searched automatically is also very different from doing it manually. But even if it's done manually, defaming someone still goes against their right to privacy.

> Why should pornography actors not have responsibilities for what they do?

They should have a right for privacy.

Youcandothis··on The guy who made a tool to track women in porn videos is sorry
Laws are often difficult to enforce, but that is not a reason to not have the laws.
