What about the contract law that says you can't (typically) breach contracts?

The implication here is that the proxy fridge forwards the Anubis challenge to a dedicated rig controlled by the scraper who efficiently solves it and returns the answer.

The hacked MSN client from mess.be was amazing. You could spam the "nudge" that made your friend's client take focus and shake and make a noise!

Y_Y··on How do I permanently disable random Google Photos popup to backup photos? (2024)
I find it a bit dystopian to imagine that everyone has to carry ID all the time. I know lots of countries do it, but I've never had to and I'd like to keep it that way.

(I'm aware that some places I've been to require foreigners to carry passports at all times but luckily it's never been an issue.)

I don't think Gauche fits there. There is a tradition of naming with synonyms for "scheme" (as in a criminal enterprise) like the others you listed, with some more peripheral ones like Gambit, Ruse, Artifice.
Y_Y··on Show HN: Eigendrum - Draw any shape and hear what it sounds like as a drum
The tone is kind of snippy. It refuses to play when there would be numerical artifacts ("there would be numbers, and they would be wrong") and if your drawn shape self-intesects it complaint rather than just giving a reasonable answer with a warning (minimum crossing width, separate bodies).

Overall a cool tool, but pretty annoying. I point it out not really to criticize this project, but because I see a trend in software that has a holier-than-thou sort of paternalistic tone. LLMs are obviously rife with this, but I also see interfaces from some humans that give me the vibe of a snooty Parisian waiter.

Y_Y··on I hate packaging my software for Linux
If you're on a Debian-type distro the checkinstall is definitely what you want instead of `make install`. It wraps make and gives you a package that dpkg knows about.

Y_Y··on Open-weight AI is having its Kubernetes moment
Eight B200s, at whatever quantization I can fit, ideally fp4. Apparently it might fit in eight H200s, but with 2.8B parameters (1.8% active) I'm not optimistic.
Y_Y··on Tile's security is so bad it's a feature for stalkers
It was a silly joke. I don't know of any provider real or take that offers North Korean IPs, and I suspect that roughly meets demand.

GLM 5.2 awq4 via Opencode, it was better than corporate's fave Sonnet 4.8 and a but worse than Opus 4.8. overall quite capable of a lot of what the dev team needed. Not as good as Sonnet 5 but also never runs out of tokens.

The flip side is that it takes four H200s to run, and that will only let you cache context for maybe three users.

Fingers crossed our Blackwells show up and Kimi 3 really releases weights, because at some point devs are spending a significant portion of their salary on tokens and it's somehow cheaper to buy these ridiculous DGX servers and rack and run them.
