Unfortunately for people who don't like Office - there'r no good alternatives if you want to conduct business in the environment where Office is most widely used.
What device does that?
I love my 128GB model and I'll probably get the second version when they come out with it.
Also, here are instructions to change the Word auto-save frequency - http://en.kioskea.net/faq/8283-word-change-auto-save-frequen...
Also, are you planning on wrapping native GUI/forms elements or rendering your own via your abstract drawing layer (or both)?
Old versions of Photoshop. Lots of stuff. I'm so glad that practically zero businesses run Macs because Apple really does suck at backwards compatibility- and as a business programmer, I'm just glad that I don't have to deal with all that. Maybe that's why businesses don't really use them? It probably has more to do with the hardware lock-in though honestly.
Making old business software run on current Windows is a breeze. My parents even ran their old DOS accounting package on Windows for their small business - all the way up through Windows XP and then they retired altogether.
Please, take your special brand of crazy somewhere else.
~200MB worth of documents to be approximately exact. Are they fake? Who do we trust and why? Every "fact" we're given comes second hand.
The oldest trick in the book: "Mom, she's hitting me!" (she wasn't hitting me.)
Nations have been attacking each other in this way since forever. Is it more or less extraordinary than a nation attacking it's own people?
Me: Cool, a demo! [click]
Web: But first, you must Sign Up...[trollface]
Me: Nope nope nope...
It seemed like a straight-forward, facts-only response to me.
if yes("Should I delete all your important files?"):
echo("I'm sorry Dave, I'm afraid I can't do that.")
else:
echo("I think you know what the problem is just as well as I do.")I'm not saying this wasn't a mistake, but knowledge of things like "Operation Mockingbird" do carry weight with me. Do you know about this? It's crazy... (There's very much out there to read on this but here's the summary.)
"According to Alex Constantine (Mockingbird: The Subversion Of The Free Press By The CIA), in the 1950s, "some 3,000 salaried and contract CIA employees were eventually engaged in propaganda efforts". Wisner was able to constrain newspapers from reporting about certain events, including the CIA plots to overthrow the governments of Iran (see: Operation Ajax) and Guatemala (see: Operation PBSUCCESS)." - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Operation_Mockingbird
If you're thinking that the mistake is such a small transgression that - "who would care?" Well...little tiny almost imperceivable things do matter, particularly to propagandists and to Pavlov's dog :) (Again - not saying that "I know" anything, but a non-infinitesimal possibility is definite IMO :)

If it didn't sound apocryphal to you, would it really change the fact that Hanlon's/Heinlein's razor is nothing more than a non-scientific personal philosophical statement?
In any case look at Wikipedia - other smart people are quoted saying the same thing that was attributed to Einstein:
"...misunderstandings and neglect create more confusion in this world than trickery and malice. At any rate, the last two are certainly much less frequent." — Johann Wolfgang von Goethe (1774) - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hanlon's_razor
Malice does exist. It's just good old common sense to never rule it out.
"Microsoft used to control the future of computing. Now they are yet another enterprise software company with no apparent mission except to make money.
...
Meanwhile Apple/Google/Amazon/Facebook/etc look toward the future"
I disagreed with the part where they said "just another enterprise software company". I also happen to disagree that they have no apparent mission, but that's another story; please forget that I said it :)
So, would you argue my point for a second? Why is Microsoft NOT just another enterprise software company now or in the next decade? I think I can come up with more, "bigger" and more provable reasons that they are NOT than that they are, but could be wrong. And who knows the future? Right now, they're surely not just another enterprise company and the future is not static, it's based on the now.
Businesses aren't going to switch to Linux on the desktop anytime this decade or the next because there is very little expertise to be hired and they're not going to buy into Apple's hardware lock-in either for obvious reasons. Consumers aren't going to buy Linux unless it comes pre-installed from a major manufacturer. Even then (we've tried that experiment before) - they still don't buy. Some of them might buy Macs, but the majority certainly won't because they're more expensive and completely unnecessary since Windows already does everything they need.
Hanlon's Razor is a nice sounding quote and all, but where is there any evidence that it's accurate?
- Idiocracy
Here, Google even backs us up on this - https://www.google.com/search?q=define%3A+out+of+the+box
"Out of the box is the term used to denote items, functionalities, or features that do not require any additional installation. ..." - via http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Out_of_the_box
Are you aware that like 90% of corporations run Windows? No other operating system can claim anything even close to that.
Didn't OS X users just get the ability to resize windows by any edge or corner? They only had to wait 10 years for that wonderful feature.
How about being able to properly replace the Dock? You can't, because Apple does not allow non-Apple programs to affect NSScreen visibleFrame.
Maybe you can tell us how much Finder can be controlled versus the file browsers in Windows or say Gnome/KDE? Wait, nope - turns out it's sorely lacking in extendability hooks.
Furthermore - OS X has shitty package management and limits what you can do with your terminal as well because you cannot replace certain packages without breaking your entire system - http://cloudhead.io/2011/04/18/why-osx-doesnt-cut-it/
So, no...OS X is not as maleable as other operating systems.
What other enterprise company has major footholds in even half of the markets that Microsoft has? Who else has Windows?
Saying otherwise is a bold claim.
