However, I don't think the alternative would have made people any happier (and frankly they probably would be justifiably even more angry)
I'm assuming that Argon has at least a June 2026 date, but man, the 3 series models were a mess with newer information.
It might check the phantom "short term profits" box, but anyone with any modicum of business sense (and the oil boys are no amateurs) see this event as probably the largest nail ever driven into the oil coffin.
Trump could not have given a bigger gift to the anti-oil crowd, making every human on Earth think "Damn, this shit is getting expensive and unreliable, what alternatives are available?"
But given they are NMC chemistry, you probably wouldn't want to cycle them a lot for the grid (or just your home).
The shareholders, via the board, hold final say over the company, it's direction, and it's alignment...because they own it.
Here is a link to the conversation topic to help clear your confusion:
The shareholders own the company. It is their property. They paid for it, they own it, and likewise they can do whatever they want with it.
It would be crazy if I proposed you let me drive your car to work everyday. Why? Because you own your car, it's your property, and it works for your own interest. Basically every human agrees with this logic, but somehow "the company is just focused on pleasing shareholders" escapes this.
Some brokerages are more strict, but plenty just let you check boxes.
If Hamas cared about Palestinians, they could just use military buildings for that.
"Ya know what, everybody already has us marked as commiting genocide, so why don't we just actually do it?"
The civilian population of Palestinians has shrunk ~1% since the war started, despite Israel have the weapons to actually just kill everyone.
Like when packaged food gets potentially contaminated, you don't test each package for bacteria. You throw away the whole lot.
It seems even otherwise intelligent people will cultivate as much ignorance as possible to try and bend reality.
Apparently OAI is already building GPT7 and GPT8
They basically have mastered exploiting government assistance. It's 9 parts enraging and 1 part deeply impressive.
Most teachers have 14-16 weeks a year off. That alone is a tough counter argument to surmount. In a few of our local districts, on average teachers are making $130k/yr if you scaled their pay to a normal 48 week career schedule. This is on top of gangbusters benefits.
Beyond that, once you get a few years into it and have your scaffolding built, you can kinda just cruise control for the rest of your career with only minor changes.
Yes, the job is challenging and stressful, but lowkey most $130k/yr jobs are.
The real devotion of teaching is being willing to have so much unproductive time which would be filled in a different higher paying career.

Going off on a bit of a tangent now, but it might still be relevant to education.
I have noticed with healthcare, as I have dealt with it more in the last five years than my whole life combined times ten, is that when they fuck up or make a mistake, at best you will maybe get a sorry. What you will not get is a "yeah, we made a mistake, we'll eat the cost and do it again".
They never have to eat costs or take an L. There is no loss when they fuck up. They only thing they respond to is "lawsuit", which is normally a wildly expensive years long endeavor for everyone. This is all complicated by insurance being the picture too, who ostensibly would be the ones to get a refund in most cases. But the net result would be cheaper insurance for everyone, and less careless behavior from healthcare professionals.
We have a vocal minority that keeps stoking EV fears because their unique lifestyle can only be met with a 500 mile range that charges in 5 minutes from a charger located at every gas station, and costs $30k brand new.
The number of people driving ICE cars that would be better off in an EV is massive, and we know this, and these people still keep getting wrapped around the axle of outlier stories.

The fears and anxieties of that small shaving of people is simply a misguided talking point about EV viability.
These people stoke a lot of fear about EVs despite being a tiny fraction of the population.
