You complain about error on simple math, but you wrote 1 + 2 = 2 ;-)
VinzO··on 60% of Twitter Users Quit Within the First Month
Yea I created an account, logged in, tried to add my first contact. I had the message that an error occured, retry later. I retried something like 3 times and I had a message that my account was blocked due to suspicious activities... Great for a first time... I never connected again.
VinzO··on AskHN: Feedback for online game: "Squad Leader" by Avalon Hill.
For someone like me that has never played this kind of game, I have no clue what to do. I don't even know which color is my team. The only thing I can get is NULL messages. I clicked a lot of times on "I am done" to see what happens, nothing moved and then game was over. I expected maybe my ennemy to do some movements. You should really include some help or instructions at start. At this point people will try just a few minutes and won't come back to your game again.

VinzO··on How can C Programs be so Reliable?
You seem to forget that in embedded systems, C is still the most used language. So most of the new systems developed these days have new C code. And embedded systems are everywhere.

Also a big part of embedded systems have to be reliable for years in hostile environement without external interventions. so I wouldn't say that this is easily predictable subsystems.

VinzO··on Prolonged Partial Sleep Deprivation for a Job (The worst year of my life [so far])
I read somewhere (but can't remember where) that people spending a lot of time behind a monitor, can suffer from delayed sleep cycles. This is due to the light emitted by the monitor. So probably as one said already, it could help not watching at a monitor hours before sleep.

I found a lot of good informations about sleep on that link : http://www.supermemo.com/articles/sleep.htm

Even if the problem you point at is important, showing no respect for the audience you try reach won't help you to convince people.

Without more details on what you want to do, it is hard to say. And if it is your first language, probably that none of them is a good choice. Why limit the choice to these two languages?

VinzO··on Ask YC: 6-Month road trip down the west coast...much advice needed
In my opinion it would be a mistake to see only the cities.

I traveled on the west coast a few years ago and I was amazed by the beautiful nature. Yosemite Park, Tahoe Lake, Death Valley, Grand Canyon are a MUST. Santa Cruz, Monterey, Carmel are very beautiful places to enjoy ocean view and beaches.

If you are not afraid to walk, go to the top of the Dome in Yosemite Park. You won't regret it.

Grand Canyon is very impressive. I specially recommend a flight with a small plane over the canyon. Unforgetable.

For the cities, I didn't see a lot, but SF and the bay area is great. I also liked spending time in Santa Monica. Vegas is good to see, but I spent only one night there and I think it was enough.

I also enjoyed visiting Universal Studio in LA.

Enjoy your time there !
