I worked for a large CPG company and what you are describing happens everywhere all the time and there is zero illegal about it. It’s called a most favored nation clause and if you do decide to sell lower elsewhere and don’t reduce your price to match (and beat) their competitor, then your MFN customer delists you or stops buying from you.

This is happening constantly with the private label brands you see in major stores. There is no CFPB needed here, Amazon has no obligation to carry your product and can dump you anytime. Why would CFPB get involved?

All of these “go back to handcoding” posts seem to be done by very experienced coders. The fact that a less than mediocre coder like me can have sql statements or Python ETL written and tested for me in seconds rather than hours is all I need to see.

Interesting about sleep, I definitely feel most productive in the morning after a solid night of sleep.

They would just use documentation. I know there is some synthesis they would lose in the training process but I’m often sending Claude through the context7 MCP to learn documentation for packages that didn’t exist, and it nearly always solves the problem for me.
