Author (which seems like AI) has no idea what open source even means.
When it balloons, it's time to ditch the machine.
What is "root" in macOS is more or less a power user role. Apple took away the true ability to operate as root a long time ago with System Integrity Protection which walls off the critical parts of the OS from the user entirely.
Unfortunately, SIP also restricts basic system functions that are trivial in other OSes. Apple made this very difficult, and MS would have loved to do this in Vista had they not received the backlash that they did.
I will never touch this garbage and would rather use the disk space I purchased to be used for my purposes, not the industry's pointless fad bubble endeavors.
A 256GB Mac Mini is effectively unable to use macOS 27 due to this bloated nonsense.
It's hard to turn a large ship around.
So no, it's not reasonable at all.
Buy an Apple product if you want what you're stating.
All AI recomps are not to be used, nor considered true recomps. They likely contain stolen or copyrighted code.
If an LLM makes a good codebase bad, you can't in good faith blame the coders. You blame the LLM.
Also the time limit is stupid and pointless.
