VCFundedGenYer··on 56k.rip – the 1996 dial-up internet experience
Vibe coded replica, not the actual OS or programs.

Also riddled with inaccuracies.

VCFundedGenYer··on Memory Companies Have Destroyed the Consumer Market
AI needs to die so we can buy electronics again. This is one of the top reasons why nobody likes it (among many other reasons)
VCFundedGenYer··on Memory Companies Have Destroyed the Consumer Market
Both are to blame.
VCFundedGenYer··on We’re forgetting what darkness feels like
It got 1000% worse when street lights went to LEDs. And in my area, they didn't even use warm colored LEDs - they are harsh bright white bulbs.

I miss the 70s/80s/90s era of street lights where they were warm and easy on the eyes.

VCFundedGenYer··on AI needs $6T in annual revenue to justify data centre boom
And they won't receive it. The fad will die.
VCFundedGenYer··on DraftKings is using AI to behaviorally target chronic gamblers
They are about to get kicked out of Massachusetts due to this behavior. Love that for them.
VCFundedGenYer··on Unsurprisingly, Meta's new Muse AI agent blatantly ignores users permissions
macOS’s permission model doesn’t work correctly. The only thing it’s good at is allotting the user with consent prompts that don’t stop anything.
VCFundedGenYer··on America.gov
That’s adorable if you think that’s how this works.
VCFundedGenYer··on macOS Golden Gate Is a Buggy Mess
This is the correct answer. Upgrading within the first few months is an idiot move.
VCFundedGenYer··on macOS Golden Gate Is a Buggy Mess
These are pretty worthless critiques. In the grand scheme of things, they worked on items that actually matter as opposed to these minor things that no one will notice.
VCFundedGenYer··on macOS Golden Gate Is a Buggy Mess
For 99.9% of us, these mean nothing. This article is pretentious.

Classic Apple fans hyperfixating on things that do not matter. Misguided critiques like this are why Apple fans have such a bad reputation.

VCFundedGenYer··on ChatGPT Pro 500
Pure scam pricing.
VCFundedGenYer··on OpenAI: Tomorrow we are re-opening the Pro $200 subscription
I see they’re out of money again. Scam company.
VCFundedGenYer··on Climate is accumulating 4 Hiroshima atomic bombs worth of heat per second
Climate change is real and you need to admit that.
VCFundedGenYer··on Unsurprisingly, Meta's new Muse AI agent blatantly ignores users permissions
I think what’s more alarming is the macOS nannying UAC-like toggles to block disk access and other “protections” are apparently all UX reducing flash and no actual functionality.

I’d argue this is a five alarm fire for macOS and Meta simply exploited it.

VCFundedGenYer··on The new Firefox design is here
Safari does almost everything wrong. They’re not a good role model.
VCFundedGenYer··on The new Firefox design is here
They’ve done this so many times I’m just numb to it. These designs aren’t how I use a browser. The existing UI required no work, it was fine.

Vertical tabs are the dumbest thing they are wasting effort on. That firmly belongs as an extension, not a browser feature. Same problem as Pocket and the VPN garbage.

VCFundedGenYer··on When did Google get so weird?
DDG is marginally better, but its search indexing just uses Bing's (which is dogwater terrible), and it isn't kept up to date.
VCFundedGenYer··on OpenAI still doesn't seem to have a handle on all of its rogue AI activity
No AI is "going rogue" and you all (OpenAI included) need to stop perpetuating this misinformation.

These AI companies are just skirting basic cybersecurity stewardship.

Stop calling it AI running amok and start labeling what it should properly be called - Gross mismanagement of cybersecurity.

This is one of the many ways the AI industry dies.

VCFundedGenYer··on Goodbye to the Hard Parts That Never Mattered
This is a sad article that misses the point.

Those “hard parts” exercised your brain and mind enabling you to be great.

They never not mattered.

Cognitive surrender.

VCFundedGenYer··on EV Sales Are Booming in Europe with Gasoline at $10 a Gallon
Europe doesn’t use dollars.
VCFundedGenYer··on PostmarketOS is rebranding as Nura
Good for them. AI (especially the way you're describing it) is nothing but cancer.
VCFundedGenYer··on PostmarketOS is rebranding as Nura
The new name doesn't mean anything to anyone. It just sounds like yet another startup with a weird slop name.

The original name was descriptive and helpfully labelled.

I feel this was a bad decision.

VCFundedGenYer··on When did Google get so weird?
LLMs still can't do math nor count letters in words. Nothing has changed there.
VCFundedGenYer··on Japan moves to tighten rules for foreigners
That's false. You should pay attention to current events.
VCFundedGenYer··on Tells of a Slop UI
the prose is what kills me. It's so bad and is always the same predictable grandiose sentences.
VCFundedGenYer··on Plunging test scores are a slow-moving catastrophe
Been saying this for a while. AI is melting away people's mental and cognitive abilities.

Nobody wants to admit it though due to capitalism and VC drunkenness.

This will reach critical mass in a few years.

VCFundedGenYer··on Too AI; Didn't Read
The irony of this site being FLAGRANTLY slopcoded with AI. Has all the typical tropey phrases, fonts, and designs.

Here's a little tip: If you're going to truly take a stand against AI - you don't use AI to build the house.

VCFundedGenYer··on Fifteen years later, the Apple Cards origin story
Less "sheer force of will" and annoying arrogance and stubbornness.

Reminder that Jobs is not a good role model. A lot of his decisions were erratic and based on what might as well have been undiagnosed BPD.

VCFundedGenYer··on Automattic has a new board after failed attempt to put CEO on leave
The same way Mark Zuckerburg does - he maintains majority control.
