TheAlchemist··on Hunter Biden Added to the White House Timeline
Not only that, they also have some nice words for Clinton, Obama and "Biden/Harris".

Unbelievable stuff. If you (US) guys think you can get back to normal after that, you are crazy. Trump will never leave again, unless forced to. And even if he is forced to, the moral damage to your country will take decades and probably some blood to resolve.

TheAlchemist··on Tesla is trying to deceive investors into thinking it has San Francisco Robotaxi
Yes. There are several articles on Electreck documenting how the wording changed across the years.
TheAlchemist··on Tesla Q3 2025 Update
I'm sorry but you're late to the party.

Elon said on today's earnings call that Optimus will be a great surgeon and Tesla will enable universal access to healthcare for all. Also Tesla's new goal is to bring the age of ubiquitus aboundance for everybody. He didn't specify though if it's on Earth or Mars.

TheAlchemist··on Rivian's TM-B electric bike
I'm not sure we can call these things bikes. It weights almost 40kgs... You cannot physically ride even slightly uphill when the battery dies. It's just a motor or a scooter.
TheAlchemist··on Tesla Q3 2025 Update
Oh it's just 'corporate puffery' !

Who could possibly believe the CEO saying that their robot 'will seem so human that you will need to poke it to believe it's an actual robot' - and it's coming in less than 6 months ?

FASCINATING

TheAlchemist··on Tesla Q3 2025 Update
Unfortunately the SEC is no longer functionnal in the US. You guys have the President that launched a shitcoin 24h before inauguration, and you're asking about the SEC ?

This thing will fall once the supply of fools run out or there is a major market corretion, not when the SEC intervenes. Just like Madoff.

TheAlchemist··on Tesla Q3 2025 Update
"Robotaxi iOS app is now available to everyone in the U.S. and Canada – anyone can download to join the waitlist. We continue to enhance our vehicles with over-the-air updates, deploying Grok (an AI companion) for vehicles in North America, Low Power Mode to help conserve energy (useful when traveling) and Light Sync that synchronizes the car’s interior accent lights with music. Customers can order food directly from their vehicle touchscreen before arrival at the Tesla Diner in Los Angeles."

That folks is from the Q3 Shareholder Deck from the 1.5 Trilion $ dollar company. An app that 'anyone can download to join the waitlist' - I guess the >50% of US population served by Robotaxi before the end of 2025 is already achieved...

I'm sure they will somehow figure out how to dupe people for some more quarters about Optimus, Robotaxis and AI, but we are witnessing history here - this quarter mark the top of the revenues for Tesla and most probably their last profitable quarter. This boost was only thanks to demand pull from US EV tax credits expiration. It's all downhill from here.

TheAlchemist··on Elon Musk threatens to leave Tesla if he doesn't get his ridiculous pay
Fascinating situation.

Tesla is at most worth 1/10 of it's current valuation. Given its huge legal liabilities ahead from selling 'self-driving cars' for the past 10 years, it's probably closer to 0.

The crazy valuation is 100% dependent on Musk staying.

Musk net worth is very much dependent on Tesla too - if Tesla crashes, so does his fortune (yes, SpaceX is valued at a crazy number too, but it's not liquid and doesn't bring any real cashflow, at least not yet. And he used Tesla shares as collateral worth billions).

Tesla board member are all Musk buddies and have 0 agency.

Telsa shareholders know perfectly well that the stock tanks if he's gone.

Yeah, in short - everybody knows it doesn't make any sense anymore, including Musk and Tesla, but they have to keep the ball rolling, because they are all in it together. Every involved party looses money if he quits. If he stays they can get some more years of dumping their stock on naive 'investors' that are getting duped by the massive propaganda operation run on Twitter.

PS. Robotaxi will serve 50% of US population before the end of the year according to Tesla & Musk /s

TheAlchemist··on Friendship Begins at Home
Very good read. Took me almost 40 years to understand this. Better late than never !
TheAlchemist··on Tesla Cybertruck sales are flatlining
Anybody with a brain knew this was never going to work and Tesla was obviously lying about the 2 million reservations (okay not lying, omitting some 'small' details - like that the reservations were meaningless, much like their 'Robotaxi' is public, where by public they mean an app that lets you join a waitlist...).

Electreck article though is suggesting xAI / SpaceX are buying them not only to help Tesla, but the timing suggested that it was also to extract as much of subsides as possible. As this is a significant transaction between releated entities, there should be some documentation on that in quarterly financial statements. Quite curious how many they bought - based on Tesla influencers posts, at least for SpaceX it looks like a lot:

TheAlchemist··on One to two Starlink satellites are falling back to Earth each day
Sure, just like xAI is never raising any money (according to Elon). All of his companies are very tightly interconnected, so you should see them as a whole.
TheAlchemist··on xAI Nears $20B Capital Raise Tied to Nvidia Chips
Can't be true - Elon denied that xAI is raising any capital /s.

Nothing really interesting to say about this 'deal', but I do wonder - what will happen to all those GPUs if the hype dies and we don't achieve anything beyond current state of LLMs ? Is there a precedent ?

TheAlchemist··on One to two Starlink satellites are falling back to Earth each day
No, I don't think there is any relationship there.

I'm saying that I highly doubt the real profitability of SpaceX / Starlink, and we will only see if it's really as good as they say, once the bubble pops and there is no inifinite capital, and maybe some accountability.

TheAlchemist··on Is circular finance a red flag?
The funny thing is that everybody knows how this all ends. The only question is when. And I must admit, it's absolutely fascinating to watch.

I was quite young when the dot com bubble happened and didn't grasp the whole insanity of it, then witnessed the financial crisis (while also working in finance - quite interesting times), and now I can fully appreciate Sir Isaac Newton statement "I can calculate the motions of the planets, but I cannot calculate the madness of men" - which he made after he lost a fortune in the South Sea Company Bubble !

TheAlchemist··on One to two Starlink satellites are falling back to Earth each day
Yes, and Elon companies are well known for leaking reliable information.
TheAlchemist··on One to two Starlink satellites are falling back to Earth each day
Sorry, I was referring to the general stock market (mostly AI) bubble.

As for SpaceX, it's pretty much impossible to know their finances - they don't publish audited accounts. We can just trust what Elon is willing to share with us.

TheAlchemist··on One to two Starlink satellites are falling back to Earth each day
That's also my opinion - it will probably never be profitable - it's a great product, but the economics are not right - and that's why no other provider did this (even though they have the tech).

Let's see what happens once the bubble pops.

TheAlchemist··on AMD signs AI chip-supply deal with OpenAI, gives it option to take a 10% stake
"Feels like we're living through a Michael Lewis book."

We definitely are ! The BIG question is - what chapter are we in ?

TheAlchemist··on Tether CEO confirms major capital raise at a reported $500B valuation
Pretty crazy story of Tether !

It started as a scam (they didn't have the reserves they claimed to have), a money laundering machine and pretty much everything illegal you can imagine, and look at it now - there is a high probability they actually do have reserves now. Hell, the guy who helped them gain the access to the US financial system is now Secretary of Commerce !

TheAlchemist··on Starship cargo flights to Mars start in 2030, at a rate of $100M per metric ton
It's very funny that people still take it seriously. They should add that they can also deliver anywhere on Mars, thanks to FSD. Optimus would take care on moving the cargo from Starship to trucks, once on Mars. Still TBD if it will be Tesla Semi, Cybetruck (made for Mars) or maybe Nikola trucks that rolls down the hill very well and the CEO seems to want to get back in this business (the business of selling promises).

US is becoming a joke. It still has a lead in a lot of areas, but much less than they think, and they seem more interested in selling narratives than real products.

TheAlchemist··on OpenAI and Nvidia announce partnership to deploy 10GW of Nvidia systems
Folks old enough to have been around in 2000 have seen this movie before.

If this was such a great business, money would be coming from outside and Nvidia would be using its profits to scale production. But they know it's not and once the bubble pops, they profit margin evaporates in months. So they keep the ball rolling - this is pretty much equivalent to buying the cards from ... themselves.

TheAlchemist··on Tesla is trying to hide 3 Robotaxi accidents
I don't know when Tesla valuation will crash and Musk will go bankrupt, but once it does it will be one for the ages !

Company is still valued at >>1 trilion $, supposedly because they will soon roll out Robotaxis everywhere - 50% of US population before the end of the year, according to Musk !

Meanwhile, 3 months after the start of the operation, it's still open only for influencers, running with ±10 vehicles and operates with a driver in the front seat...

This is so absurd, that could make us forget the 2 million Cybertruck orders or the fact that all Teslas were to become Robotaxis with an OTA update in 2020.

TheAlchemist··on Tesla market share in US drops to lowest since 2017
Very very risky (I'm still doing it though). Some very skilled short sellers lost a ton of money on Tesla - for example Jim Chanos - a guy who predicted the fall of Enron and shorted quite a lot of stocks that turned out trash - Beyond Meat, Wirecard, Hertz.

But he closed his fund late 2023, in big part because of his short position on Tesla. He's still a very vocal advocate of Teslaq. Feel really bad for the guy - Tesla will end up crashing, but it will take way way longer that anybody could anticipated.

TheAlchemist··on Tesla market share in US drops to lowest since 2017
This is very true.

Tesla sales growth was already slowing day significantly before Musk showed who he really is to the wider public. There was no way they were hitting their announced target - they were supposedly going to do +50% each year until 2030, and end up selling 20M cars / year. They dropped this prediction in 2024, before 'political issues'...

TheAlchemist··on Formatting code should be unnecessary
I was thinking just plain python - let's say Black formatted code is the default and we commit only that. Then on the visualization side, the IDE can format it for whatever we want.

Actually, this could be a really easy feature for the IDE and could work already easily.

TheAlchemist··on Formatting code should be unnecessary
I like that. We should have something like this for python.

Black is great, but maybe it's just me since it aligns with how I like the code formatted.

Would there be any downsides for python (or git ?) to define a standard way of formatting to save a valid file, and all the formatting necessary to read a file happens in the IDE showing the file ?

That would very much fit with python ethos 'There should be one-- and preferably only one --obvious way to do it.'

TheAlchemist··on Tesla offers mammoth $1T pay package to Musk, sets lofty targets
It's very worrying. Besides the sheer absurdity of it, as it is, it's a mix of valuation milestones and operational ones. But the thing is, that the first operational ones are 'easy' - Tesla is already on track to deliver 20 million vehicles within next 10 years. 10 million FSD subscription, 1 million robots, 1 million robotaxi ? This can all be very easily achieved if you bend the definition a bit. Hey, according to Tesla, they are already running a Robotaxi that is accessible to the public. Nevermind that there is a driver now in the driver's seat and the only thing that is public is an app, that puts you on the waiting list.

Given that, the only real issue is the valuation targets - and that folks, that's an open invitation for stock manipulation for the master manipulator himself.

TheAlchemist··on Tesla’s autonomous driving claims might be coming to an end [video]
Yep, it's quite incredible that they released this faked video, quite a lot of people died in various accidents involving Autopilot / FSD where they clearly felt for the marketing, then Tesla guy who made it admitted it was faked and even crashed at some point while filming, and now instead of being in jail, he is ... the head of Tesla Autopilot program.
TheAlchemist··on Tesla Says Its Robotaxi App Now Open to Public Riders
Yep, and to justify the claim that 'Robotaxi is accessible to 50% of US population before the end of the year' made by the CEO...

That's pretty much the same strategy as with Cybertruck - those 2 millions reservations turned to something like 50k sales.

TheAlchemist··on Tesla moves 'Robotaxi' safety monitor from passenger to driver's seat
Having spend quite a bit of time of following Tesla propaganda machine on Twitter, this guy's answers are eerily similar to their usual strategies of disinformation. Most of these guys are influencers that are either paid or affiliated with Tesla, and now they have the advantage of being boosted by the platform owner.
