Agree 100%. I want to be able to see how many actions it took me. And it would be good if it were possible to see how well I'm doing compared to other humans, i.e. what is my percentile.
TarasBob··on Effort to prevent government officials from engaging in prediction markets
EXACTLY! We want insiders to participate in prediction markets and profit!

TarasBob··on Solving Probabilistic Tic-Tac-Toe
Have you considered making probabilistic Chess or Go? One way to do it is before each move a coin is flipped to decide who’s turn it is.

TarasBob··on Never use a URL shortening service – even if you own it
What we are currently doing by using links is essentially saying “go to the library, 4th floor, 10th shelf, 5th book from the left” when sending a link. What we should be doing is saying “go to the library and the find the Lord of the Rings book”
TarasBob··on Never use a URL shortening service – even if you own it
Ethereum is a better choice because no impact on climate change and it’s more secure. Also smart contracts make it more convenient to store information. You can build a contract that allows anyone to publish a hash in 5 minutes. You could have a map from address to an append only list of hashes. Anyone who calls the publish(bytes32 hash) function just adds to their own list.
TarasBob··on Never use a URL shortening service – even if you own it
Links in general are bad. We need to switch to using content based addresses. Something like IPFS (https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Content-addressable_storage)

TarasBob··on How to sell tickets fairly
The mechanism should also include the possibility of figuring out the optimal venue size in advance. I’m not sure what’s the right way to modify it in order to accomplish this goal.
TarasBob··on How to sell tickets fairly
Also, if the artist doesn’t want to maximize their profits through this auction mechanism, the extra money received should be donated to charity.
TarasBob··on How to sell tickets fairly
The process needs to be modified slightly. Everyone should end up paying the same amount for the ticket in the end. Those who bought early should not be penalized. When the the last ticket is sold, everyone should pay the same price as the last ticket. So when you buy early, you are just indicating the Maximum price you are willing to pay.

There should also be an option to automatically place a bid once the price reaches a certain level.

That’s the most fair way to auction off a bunch of identical things.

Another modification I would add to this is that let’s say 20% of the tickets should be sold for very cheap using a lottery system. So that not only the richest people could go to the concert.

TarasBob··on Tornado cash takedown and its repercussions
Ethereum was only a few months old at that point and you could say it was alpha software with training wheels.
TarasBob··on Tornado cash takedown and its repercussions
Let's say you're a business that accepts crypto and what if someone sends you ETH or some coins like USDC. Is it your job to check that these coins didn't come from Tornado? It's quite hard to do that. What if account A got their ETH from Tornado, then sent it to account B, which then exchanged the ETH to USDC on Uniswap, which then sent the USDC to account C, which then sent the USDC to you.

This is a problem for Bitcoin as well. What if someone got ETH from Tornado. Then converted the ETH to renBTC (https://renproject.io/) on Uniswap. Then converted the renBTC to BTC. Are those Bitcoins now somehow tainted?

This new law makes crypto essentially unusable (at least for US persons).

TarasBob··on Tornado cash takedown and its repercussions
Crypto can ve seamlessly mixed. That's exactly what Tornado does.
TarasBob··on Tornado cash takedown and its repercussions
No. Tornado is not primarily associated with fraud or crime.
TarasBob··on Tornado cash takedown and its repercussions
No. Ethereum has never forked any inconvenient data or network state.
