I have an RTX 7900 XTX and never had AMD specific issues, except that I needed to set some environment variable.

But it seems like integrated GPUs are not supported

Mhm makes sense, maybe something like a capture card with a high refresh rate would be the best option, as it won't interfere with the OS, and eliminates the delay between your camera capturing a frame and your monitor refresh rate.

SushiHippie··on Raspberry Pi gets a serious competitor as Particle unveils its 5G-capable SBC
> Such is the case with Particle's Tachyon, the first 5G-powered, AI-enabled SBC that the company claims is suitable "for everyone and everything."

They want to market it for "AI" use cases, but only include 4GB of RAM?

Cellebrite has an extra column for GrapheneOS, as they seemingly can't unlock it (since ~2 years), compared to all other Android OEM Flavours.

And with GrapheneOS you can relock the bootloader, once you've installed it.

SushiHippie··on Generating sudokus for fun and no profit
Thanks for the quick fix!

Another thing I noticed is that the wrong entry highlight sometimes highlights multiple correct numbers as incorrect and some static numbers will vanish.

After:

(Also now red and orange are a bit too similar ^^, maybe introduce the color blue?)

SushiHippie··on Generating sudokus for fun and no profit
Really love the UI!

Though the color of the inserted numbers and the highlight color of the current selected number are nearly the same, would be great if they were much more distinct.

SushiHippie··on Hyprland is now independent, dropping wlroots
I've used i3 and then sway since a few years, never had any problems (nothing I remember at least).

Then I tried out hyprland, and I had multiple crashes a day, and not really saw any benefit compared to sway. I also needed to disable all of the animations which are enabled by default, because they were nauseating and made everything slower (compared to the snappieness of sway, still faster than macos/windows).

I would have probably invested some time into debugging the issues, if I had seen any reason why I would want to use Hyprland over Sway.

After a few weeks I switched back to sway, and never felt the urge to try it again.

Same, in my BIOS I can activate a "ECO Mode", which lets me decide if I want to run my 7950x on full 170W TDP, 105W TDP or 60W TDP.

I benchmarked it, the difference between 170 and 105 is basically zero, and the difference to 60W is just a few percent of a performance hit, but way worth it, as it's ~0.3€/kWh over here.

SushiHippie··on Ask HN: For human brains only?
Tangential, is the opposite also possible? Something that only non humans could understand?

E.g. is there a way to trick 'AIs' on the other side of the phone without a human noticing it? For example 'tricking' something like Contact Center AI from google https://cloud.google.com/solutions/contact-center?hl=en

SushiHippie··on Jellyfin: We're Good, Seriously
Depends, if you only want dns and nothing more, then probably dnsmasq. That's basically one of the most used dns/dhcp servers.

Otherwise you could use solutions like AdGuard Home or PiHole, which both have a Web Interface for configuration, and the ability to block ads and tracking domains.

Note that I don't use Tailscale myself, so I don't know if Tailscale 'needs' something else. But I use pure wireguard, and all of the services mentioned above work with 'pure wireguard'.

SushiHippie··on Jellyfin: We're Good, Seriously
You could just get a wildcard certificate with lets encrypt, via a dns challenge.

E.g. lego supports many different dns providers

https://go-acme.github.io/lego/

And then internally inside of tailscale you could have your own dns server, which serves subdomains of your domain, and for all subdomains you can use the same wildcard certificate.

This also does not 'expose' your subdomains on Certificate Transparency logs
