I'd love to hear more about this service from some users. I am bumping up against Dropbox limits with my photos as well.
We live in one of the top school districts in Texas, and three years ago took our two boys out to homeschool them. No religious motivations, just got fed up with the bullshit custom we continue to call “education” in this culture.
They are learning, thriving, curious, creative and happier than ever.
My parents watch the news and talk about "staying informed" and "keeping up" with things. What exactly is newsworthy? You need to know about that apartment complex that caught fire or the shootout between drug dealers?
We have a Minecraft server running on an older Mac mini in the house, and my kids’ have friends — some local and some from other states — that log in and play with them. Sometimes they are all on Skype, talking to each other while they play. It is so cool, and fun to watch them all interacting in their Minecraft world together.
It reads like a perfectly reasonable question to me. Where exactly are you finding rudeness and negativity?
What I really enjoy is my 3-5 mile runs, which I have done regularly for about 20 years.
Long live human ingenuity!
Since we didn't have cellphones or alarm clocks, the question of how we'd wake up on time in the morning was legitimate. One person suggested announcing "I'm awake" to the room, and then waiting until someone came to fetch you.
Fantastic.
I’ll bet they’re just fascinating.
We’re all gonna die. Let’s be cool to each other and try to enjoy the ride.
Oh, time for my nap!
Maybe you could slow down and read the part about how slowing down is good for you.
In the context of my meditation practice I have come to think of consciousness more like awareness — where I am the observer of the mind and all of its random, discursive activity. Tara Brach has referred to this aspect of mind as the “survival brain” — an evolutionary vestige that is always looking for a threat, or a problem to solve. And if it can’t find an actual threat it will often create an imaginary one.
Right, and I would suggest that there are no failures here — just notice what is going on in your mind, without judging it, and then gently bring your attention back to the breath. As we practice this over time the mind will more easily quiet down. Be the patient observer of your mind and know that you are not your thoughts.
I highly recommend some of Jon Kabat-Zinn’s books, and/or some of his videos on YouTube. These have been very helpful to me.
