Simon1979on Plenty of Fish Hacked

The hacker's story certainly has less holes, however the style of writing out numbers as words is suspicious; I have only ever seen it in 419 scams: "28,000,000 (twenty eight million users)".

Simon1979on John's Phone: a minimalist cell phone

I like it, but mostly for the gimmick value. I think to be truly * usable* and simple it absolutely has to have a phonebook / speed dial of some kind.

"If you love it simple" is their tag-line, but I don't really see anything simple about having to reference a piece of paper and then dial a 13 digit number each time I want to call home.

Simon1979on Sorry, your “cool” webapp is probably not going to make money

This rings true with me. I started my own startup in 2009 in what could be considered a relatively boring but proven industry. I focused on price and SEO and it is currently making decent money and growing 30% month on month.

I am still very excited and motivated by it all, but I can't help feeling just a little jealous when I see some of the 'cool' webapps that spring up on here.
