Sherl··on AMD Reports Q2 2020 Earnings
Dont consider P/E as sole index of company's valuation.

Stock markets assign high P/E for anything they consider as "Growth". TSLA, CMG is all considered as "Growth". For some reason the present market is geared towards "Growth" than "Value".

Sherl··on Nvidia is now worth more than Intel
It's also very indicative at this time, during pandemic about those companies chopping regular employees pay versus not doing anything to top line C suite.

Many companies reduced pay by 10%-20% or stopped 401k match or even pay raise when C suite still made profits from recent stock moves.

Yes some implementation consider atomic time apart from thermal noises when generating them.
Sherl··on Peppering (Password Storage)
If it's static salt, it breaks the use of salt. Salt was designed such that a rainbow table cannot crack two similar passwords based on hash, exactly what a static salt would facilitate.

Fun Fact: it's perfectly legal to photocopy a textbook for educational purposes in India. Supreme Court threw away the court case when somebody tried to sue them.
Sherl··on Robust APIs Are Weird
The openAPI uses Python flask but to be frank, it makes sense to use the schema to generate client rather then server. FastAPI and Pydantic can generate openAPI schema from datamodel which does the type parsing for you, if parsing is the use case. Writing server code with a library that can generate schema is a pro for me rather then keeping up with updates from schema to code.
Sherl··on Microservices Considered Harmful (2019)
Atleast frontend and backend needs to be decoupled in almost any development for the future. I work with several legacy apps where we use python requests just to collect data. It's a huge pain when https certificate expires, when they change something in validation header and when they deploy a new 'field'. Most CRUD applications do need a place when you can collect all the data after the backend process all the business logic without touching the frontend.

Almost the entire RPA industry revolves around the idea of supporting this legacy apps problem -- scrapping content and not worrying about them breaking.

Why not Pocket for everything? I have used pocket of over eight years and I no longer organize. I just search when I need it or just browse through on a random Sunday. Seriously Pocket have been great and flawless in every possible integration.
Sherl··on Most tech content is bullshit
Another reason to vouch for books is, it takes painstaking amount of research, collection, compiling, citations and proof reading before you would read it. Not like someone spotting in the blog comment about a (logical) flaw. Not all tech content is BS though. Choosing whom to follow makes a huge difference, I follow Raymond Hettinger for Python, Blog posts make as a quick reference but fails as foundation building block.
Sherl··on The Brave web browser is hijacking links, and inserting affiliate codes
fuckin linux is free where the entire business lives serving trillions of dollars. $10/mo for a web browser? guess its time for another FOSS on browsers this time.

Would you recommend this to integrate with FastAPI or dash/plotly for similar application?
Sherl··on Why is Kubernetes getting so popular?
Some others are Tekton, Argo, KNative You could also use Jenkins with K8s deploy plugin (from MS Azure Devops team)
Sherl··on Why is Kubernetes getting so popular?
Set your pod to pull image always and have entrypoint shell script that clones the repo, kill the pod so on restart you could get your code deployed.

You could run init container with Kaniko that pushes image to repo and then main container that pulls that back but for that you need to do kubectl rollout restart deploy <name>

If you are looking for pure CI/CD gitlab has awesome support or you could do Tekton or Argo. They can run on the same cluster.

>expensive

you deal those with scenario planning, which might be the sole responsibility of pandemic unit. We use casual loop diagrams to understand effects when math cant be drawn out on abstract problems.

Its insanely expensive to satisfy 99% populations requirement versus 95% of populations requirement but when that happens and if the consequence are severe we manage those supply chains with redundancy and the costs are absorbed with other players. Sure, it would profitable to operate without this but my understanding is when this sh*t hits everything falls.

$15 billion savings in 2018 resulted in $12 trillion being wiped out in two weeks.

Sherl··on Tesla’s success in Europe catches industry off guard
In a plane you have some space to react before you can take control of but on roads you're bound to other interacting factors as well like other drivers on road. If the FSD isn't 100% self capable then you're basically playing a calculated risk with an array of sensors and data.

No. Amazon is not going to send you a legal notice to return this. Amazon wants to be the customer centric company and this act is to prove that they own the mistake and the customer is the king.
