SeanLockItUp··on Ask HN: How are you building cross-platform (mobile and browser) apps?
I'm building my first app in React Native right now - I have a native Android background though.

Can you shed some light on what some of the performance and stability issues you faced are? What can I expect and how did you deal with them or work around them?

Nice app btw!

SeanLockItUp··on “Manager READMEs” from some tech companies
I don't know but when I was reading your comment I just kept thinking that the weekly 1:1 that you're advocating is being done for your reports is really just being done for yourself.

I'm with the OP that 1:1 every 2 weeks is better.

Not OP but that's my only use case for the DUNS number.

Are you saying we may not need it? Or that there's an expedited / cheaper way if we're just getting it for that sole purpose?

SeanLockItUp··on I built a progressive web app and published it in three app stores
ah fair enough, yea I wanted an LLC because everyone told me to be smart and not use my real name and have no legal protections.

I suppose I could have just used my name though.

I don't think that's true?

I had to get a DUNS number to apply to the app store. And it had to be an LLC (I think?) and not a sole proprietorship.

I initially just wanted to use a "DBA" (doing business as) but they don't allow those anymore, they used to in the early days but no longer.

SeanLockItUp··on Ask HN: Does anyone use an alternative to a password manager?
> Doesn't this compromise all of your passwords if one of your passwords is discovered?

I've been trying to understand password managers for a while. My workplace forces us to use one.

But what you've said doesn't make sense. If your "master password" used in the password manager is discovered, then all your passwords are compromised.

If my laptop or phone gets stolen and someone knows the password from my password manager, then I'm done for.

I choose to follow the algorithm approach too. Even though it's BS.
