Roybatty··on What I wish I knew before moving to San Francisco
Yeah, I know that leftist groupthink doesn't comprehend that fascism is a leftist political ideology.

Hint, you know what NAZI means?

Roybatty··on A Mysterious Patch Of Light Shows Up In The North Dakota Dark
You leftists make environmentalism a religion.

A big FUCK YOU to you leftists who stop progress at every opportunity.

Roybatty··on What the Obama IT team teaches us about polyglot programming
No, only in your little fantasy world
Roybatty··on What I wish I knew before moving to San Francisco
You do realize that there are people outside of your little world that aren't leftists/socialists/fascists, right?
Roybatty··on The Unreasonable Effectiveness of C
The C language is wonderful is because you can look Quake I, II, III, and instantly see the intent. In C++ you can't.
Roybatty··on The bizarre tale of John McAfee, spymaster
I had to channel Rick James to make that funnier.
Roybatty··on HTML5Wow
So is WebGL part of HTML 5 because Mozilla and Google are implementing it? Would Google Native Client https://developers.google.com/native-client/overview be part of "HTML5" if Mozilla was implementing it?
Roybatty··on Is Sugar the Next Tobacco?
f it really does lead to obesity and the connected illnesses, treatment will indirectly take money away from all of the other people with the same insurance company.

Socialists like rb2k claim that every individual action has some reprehensible act on "society".

The new (or maybe old) tactic of the fascist left.

Roybatty··on Is Sugar the Next Tobacco?
Woosh right over your head. That certain political agendas prefix industries with "Big" doesn't make you think. Yeah, whatever
Roybatty··on Is Sugar the Next Tobacco?
At what point do we start talking about sanctions against leftist-statists like this guy and others who want to essentially enslave us.

At what point is enough is enough, and these people are held to account for infringing on civil liberties.

Roybatty··on Is Sugar the Next Tobacco?
The suits against Big Food have largely been stalled at the failure stage.

Big Tobacco, Big Oil, and now Big Food. These socialists are sick in the head.

Roybatty··on Is Sugar the Next Tobacco?
especially after he proposed in the journal Nature that sugar should be regulated like alcohol and that people who buy soda should be carded.

Another sick leftist that wants to regulate every human activity.

Roybatty··on What one book could give me a new, useful superpower?
Another sick leftist defending another leftist that mass-murdered tens of millions of people.
Roybatty··on What one book could give me a new, useful superpower?
Stalin and Mao are another kind of thing. Their rule led to millions of deaths, but it's not like they enjoyed killing people (as is probably the understanding of naive people calling them 'evil'). Part of the massacres were result of the inevitable power plays in huge countries with hundreds of millions population under a revolution (or regime change) -- the same way that 50.000 people were executed in the French Revolution.

It's sickening watch leftists like you defend Mao and Stalin...and yes, you are.

Roybatty··on What one book could give me a new, useful superpower?
Plus, who said that (a) I know what I want, (b) what I want is good for me (c) what I want is good for society in general, anyway?

Then who is making those decisions for you?

Roybatty··on Facebook Users Must Be Allowed To Use Pseudonyms, Says German Privacy Regulator
Alternatively, North Korea, Mozambique, Cubs, and France can also say that, but why does it matter?
Roybatty··on The Slate programming language
Here's http://lee.fov120.com/ecoop.pdf Lee Salzman's (the brains behind Slate) paper on Prototype with Multi-Dispatch.
Roybatty··on The Slate programming language
Like I said, Slate has some cool concepts in its core, but nobody seems interested. Someone with too much time on his hands could write an awesome Smalltalk-like environment around it.
Roybatty··on The Slate programming language
Slate has been around for a while, and has some interesting concepts (prototype and multi-dispatch).

The brains behind it seems to have lost interest years ago, and the "Jobs" behind it has a major personality disorder that just turns people off.

Roybatty··on How accurate are Americans at estimating calories?
What "we need" is oversight by another federal government agency that can issue us smart cards that are mandated by grocery stores and will help us in deciding what we can buy and how much.

I hear Michael Bloomberg has already invested in a startup.

Roybatty··on Facebook Users Must Be Allowed To Use Pseudonyms, Says German Privacy Regulator
Don't worry though. The communists in the UN will soon decide that Facebook needs oversight.
Roybatty··on Facebook Users Must Be Allowed To Use Pseudonyms, Says German Privacy Regulator
Germans have historically thought they can dictate their wishes on others.
Roybatty··on Holding a Program in One's Head (2007)
work in long stretches

Nope, that idiotic open offices isn't conducive for that.

Roybatty··on Byte-code for the web is coming: Pepper 24 can build PNaCl executables
I know that IE or Firefox will probably never adopt this tech, but IE will never adopt WebGL, and that's somewhat considered part of the HTML5 stack.

I'm just not a fan of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript for writing apps. Part of the reason is my ignorance, but the other reason is because that stack seems to be a worse is better solution.

Oh well, back to monkeying around with TypeScript.

Roybatty··on Android Won. Windows Lost
3 seems to be a magic number. I think eventually Microsoft will have significant share of the mobile/tablet market.
Roybatty··on The Unofficial Guide to Rich Hickey's Brain
In a language like Clojure you wouldn't have the problem of autocomplete because there isn't an object for the method to be attached to.

I love autocomplete and editors/IDEs for dynamic OO languages have a hard time providing it, because the type isn't know except through certain types of analysis, which can never be 100% known.

Roybatty··on The Unofficial Guide to Rich Hickey's Brain
I find Rich's anti-OO philosophy refreshing. I know Rich's reasons for not liking mainstream/traditional OO is different, but for some reason I've never liked the idea of having methods and data together. I like the concept of Common Lisp's CLOS.
Roybatty··on Larry Page "providing free flu shots to all San Francisco bay area kids"
Is it the 1% being magnanimous?

The class warfare rhetoric is B.S.

Roybatty··on Ubuntu Spyware: What to Do?
Still disagree. I think your definition of "linux users" tends to be more desktop-oriented, where there is more of a philosophical bent towards an RMS ideology. My definition of "linux users" would include developers and sysadmins that are using it as a server, and use it for more practical reasons.

And malicious has strong connotations..e.g malware, spyware, which most "linux users" wouldn't necessarily apply to developers of legit proprietary software.

Roybatty··on Ubuntu Spyware: What to Do?
RMS's hyperbole undermines his arguments for many people.
