Reichhardt··on Policy punishes disabled people who save more than $2k
Its highly inefficient for millions of individuals welfare recipients to being independently purchasing accommodation, entertainment, utilities, food.

A superior solution would be for Governments to setup large establishments where all of these services could be provided centrally and directly. Individuals could contribute their labor to maintain the establishment.

Reichhardt··on EU Planning to Force Apple to Give Developers Access to Hardware and Software
Would be better to just mandate a maximum % commission chargeable on the platform. 10% seems reasonable.
Reichhardt··on 2022/23 worldwide grain consumption will exceed production [pdf]
You might simply be sensitive to Roundup, which is found as residue in bread in North America, since it is used as a pre-harvest desiccant.

Try consuming organic wheat products only.

Reichhardt··on 2022/23 worldwide grain consumption will exceed production [pdf]
The childhood mortality rate in Mali has fallen from 37% in 1970 to 9% in 2020. The fertility in the same period fell only from 7.13 to 5.78.

The number of surviving children has thus increased from 4.49 to 5.25, thanks to medical advances and international aid.

As we donate aid and food, the population will continually increase until either our generosity is exhausted or some other environmental limit is hit.

Mali has 37% of its population without access to contraception. We should be donating education, contraception and abortion for women, not food aid.

Reichhardt··on 2022/23 worldwide grain consumption will exceed production [pdf]
Populations in some countries are expanding infinitely. These countries should adapt now, by reducing family sizes and generally operating within resource limits based on national output and productivity. Losses of 100,000 today will be 100 million tomorrow.

Mali Population 1950: 4.7 million

Mali Population 2022: 21.4 million

Mali Population 2100: 80.3 million

https://www.populationpyramid.net/mali/2022/

UK Population 1950: 50.6 million

UK Population 2022: 68.5 million

UK Population 2100: 78 million

It is unrealistic to imagine that countries such as Mali will voluntarily adopt family planning or quickly reach a sub-replacement fertility rate. The only limit to their population growth is incoming food supplies. About a quarter of the population is already reliant on international aid.

Reichhardt··on The Case for Higher Rates
A major driver of inflation is Baby Boomers retiring. If we want to contain inflation, we should immediately increase the full retirement age to 70 and partial to 65.

Secondly, we can immediately ban the purchase of Crytpocurrencies, to drive down the price and hence attractiveness of mining and electricity rates.

Government action needs to be at the supply side.

Reichhardt··on The growing discontent behind Nintendo’s fun facade
The market is fundamentally unfair: Indie developers are forced to pay 30% commissions, whilst mega-studios get sweetheart deals of 10%.

These sweetheart deals are practically impossible for Indies (including ex-AAA workers) to compete against and replicate, and its leading to industry stagnation.

As long as the standard rate at Apple, Google, Valve, Microsoft, Sony remains 30%, I would not advise anyone to work in the games industry. At least Nintendo gives customers 5% cashback on Switch, leaving an effective commission rate of 25% (a major reason why that platform has been so successful and an oasis of success for Indie devs).

The first thing a GameDev Union should fight for is fair commission on these platforms, independent of entity size.

Reichhardt··on ‘Biodegradable’ drinking straws contain PFAS
Why do we insist on composting or burying so much trash? Let's just burn plastic in the same high-temperature facilities common across Scandinavia. Plastic and packaging use is still only 5% of the oil going up in smoke in engines.
Reichhardt··on Burkina Faso: Another Coup Led by U.S.-Trained Soldier
The history of these African nations has always been, and will forever be, rule by a strongman. Better that they are aligned with the West, than China.
Reichhardt··on The Coca-Cola Company Suspends Its Business in Russia
Sounds like a great time to promote contraception, abortion, education for women as global values. Africa and West Asia's exponential population growth had to end at some point.
Reichhardt··on The Russia-Ukraine War Turned Egypt's Food Crisis into an Economic Threat
Population during the Roman Empire: 7.5 million

Today: 106 million

Their fertility rate is 3.28. The country needs a one or no-child policy.

Reichhardt··on Russian-manufactured armored vehicle vulnerability in urban combat (1997)
The fertility rate in Ukraine is 1.23. In Afghanistan in 2001 it was 7.39. Vietnam in 1960 was 6.35. Its much easier to fight guerilla war when you have hordes of young people. Ukraine is old, but so is Russia. Every male killed in this war there is probably the end of male lineage for that family.
Reichhardt··on Stop Putin, Block Russia from Swift
Economic sanctions will do nothing for the Ukrainian men and women fighting for their homes on the ground. Western nations need to begin running air missions over Ukraine directly. With control of the air, the local Ukrainian troops can easily triumph on the ground.
Reichhardt··on Putin orders Russian peacekeepers to eastern Ukraine's two breakaway regions
European leaders are bought and paid for. The ex-chancellor of Germany is on the board of Rosneft:

https://www.reuters.com/article/us-russia-rosneft-board/russ...

The same Chancellor who initiated the German nuclear phaseout, thus embedding European reliance on Russian gas.

Reichhardt··on Quordle: Four Wordles in One
Need to fully visually eliminate letter choices that are no longer available to the remaining quadrant, when the others that are solved.
Reichhardt··on Search Engines Will Deindex All Domains That Have 100 Links to Pirated Content
That's not really accurate. I have a few modest Indie PC games for sale and I still need to remove dozens of torrent links every few months from Google, often for the same sites over and over again (just with a slight URL variation).

Google should just de-list well-known torrent sites completely.

Reichhardt··on Thousands of Planes Are Flying Empty and No One Can Stop Them
Air travel won't be back to normal (if that's even the intention) until vaccination, mask, and testing requirements are abandoned.

Sitting on an 11-hour plane ride with a German woman shouting at you every 30 minutes that your mask is too low (my experience flying from the US to Berlin last week) is a very unpleasant experience.

Reichhardt··on Reddit founder predicts 90% of games will be Play-to-Earn crypto in 5 years
When you have whales buying game assets with crypto, you avoid platform commissions (30%) and sales taxes (10% on average and rising, globally). This is really the chief innovation of P2E games.
Reichhardt··on How to build homes with virtually no heating (2020)
Its not moisture, its general ventilation. All houses should have formal ventilation systems to exhaust CO2 and control humidity secondarily.
Reichhardt··on Health care is turning into a consumer product
The simplest changes we could make would be to ban the addition of sugar to certain mainstream food categories (drinks, bread, sauces), and also to require nutritional information to be listed as per 100g, not per serving size.

Follow that by banning burning of coal and oil, we also remove a significant amount of noise and air pollution.

Next we can ban any hormone-disrupting chemicals (including as plastic additives) from being used in anything that will ever touch human food or drink, or ground water.

Finally we can legaize euthanasia for anyone aged 70 or older and with a terminal health condition.

With these changes you have a human population much healthier and less reliant on expensive healthcare.

Reichhardt··on The Oakland homeless problem is beyond belief
We are forcing experimental mRNA vaccines on billions of people, for no gain (explicitly in the case of those who already have natural immunity) - primarily for the profits of big pharma.

Many people voluntarily seek out birth control. Its difficult for homeless people to manage that long-term. Vasagel is also a solution for homeless men. Long-term implants can be used for women.

Reichhardt··on Farmers facing fertiliser sticker shock may cut use
China already suspended Phosphate exports in July 2021:

Reichhardt··on The Oakland homeless problem is beyond belief
> How do we build a society where homelessness doesn't happen in the first place

Pay people to get sterilized. Right now our current welfare system encourages homeless women to have children - since they are immediately granted public housing.

Offering homeless men $5,000 and women $10,000 for vasectomies and tube tying will save a fortune in welfare costs and end the cycle of poverty.

Reichhardt··on Crypto: The Good, the Bad and the Ugly
But at much lower rates. Taxes as a % of GDP didn't exceed 10% in the USA until WW1: https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/3/37/Federal%...

You can see other spikes related to other wars. Wars sure are great if you want to expand Government power and taxation over your own citizenry!

Reichhardt··on Crypto: The Good, the Bad and the Ugly
50% of healthcare costs are incurred in the final 5 years of life, and in much of the world private healthcare is accepted and efficient.

I'd rather euthanize myself at age 80 and pay much lower taxes throughout my adult life than die at age 85 in a gold-plated Government hospital.

Sanitation and public transport can be directly charged to end-users based on usage. Education can be funded with land value taxes.

Federal Government bureaucracy just exists to support itself. Healthcare agencies have been turned against the population to promote lockdowns and big pharma, and intelligence agencies spy against their own citizens.

Reichhardt··on Crypto: The Good, the Bad and the Ugly
The current fiat system (and the Governments that control it) are completely enslaved to the welfare (pension) and healthcare demands of baby boomers.

These demands will only multiply as the populations age, until eventually consuming the host. You can already see this in countries like Italy, which are now in demographic death spirals.

If we can craft a new financial system without spending 15%+ of our GDP and rising on Pensions[1], even with some inefficiency its still worth it.

https://data.oecd.org/socialexp/pension-spending.htm

Avoiding sales taxes, platform commissions, and income taxes is a major advantage.

The issue with Crypto right now is waste from Proof of Stake, and fraud/security risks. We need to resolve this before expanding.

Reichhardt··on Why Restaurants Are So Fucked
Who has ever made sushi even with a full home kitchen? Cook and prep times have gone down from about 40 minutes on average to 5-10 minutes. Use that liberated time to find more interesting ingredients. With the saute mode and pressure cooking mode, about the only thing you can't do is bake stuff.
Reichhardt··on Chicago Public Schools cancels classes after union votes to go virtual
At what point do we declare Chicago a failed city?

Hopefully the next Republican administration will stop feeding Illinois funds and just allow them to go bankrupt - and begin the process of rebuilding.

Reichhardt··on Airbnb's experiment in combatting rental bias means swapping names for initials
They tried this in Australia, and it resulted in more males being hired:

https://www.abc.net.au/news/2017-06-30/bilnd-recruitment-tri...

"The trial found assigning a male name to a candidate made them 3.2 per cent less likely to get a job interview.

Adding a woman's name to a CV made the candidate 2.9 per cent more likely to get a foot in the door.

"We should hit pause and be very cautious about introducing this as a way of improving diversity, as it can have the opposite effect," Professor Hiscox said."
