Quipunotch104··on Okay, Maybe Proofs Aren't Dying After All
John Horgan loves making these wild assertions even though he is not a trained scientist or mathematician. He once even published a book called the End of Science. In that book, Horgan said that scientists were no longer going to come up with revolutionary scientific theories like relativity and the theory of evolution. Safe to say, this guy has a reputation of writing edgy and provocative things with very little basis in reality.

"Now the whole idea of a meditative practice is the process of very simply extricating awareness from the identification with thought & sensation." - Ram Dass

Has anyone out there used this or have any thoughts on its functionality?
Quipunotch104··on Political Operatives Faked Millions of Comments Against Net Nuetrality
Wait, so a lobby group was behind it all? /s

The reality is no one is surprised, and the lack of surprise is exactly why the system is broken. Let’s hope the states advocate for Net Neutrality.

Quipunotch104··on No Strong Opposition to 144-146 MHz Reallocation Proposal at CEPT Meeting
The French are sell-out idiots. 6 out of 12 representatives are from Thales who has wanted more frequencies on the air band for years because of their drone business and also have interest on the space industry. The Galileo project should've never even be close to 1.2GHz but apparently they need the band and it's too late to change. Since filtering is too expensive it's cheaper to just take away from ham community... This said, if they do get it their way there's gonna be a lot of interference on 2m.
Quipunotch104··on Porting Wine to amd64 on NetBSD, first evaluation report
Interesting read, thank you for sharing it. I can't for the life of me think of any Windows apps that I personally would want to run in BSD. Granted, I didn't think very hard. LoL. On my main rig (Arch Linux), the only thing I have ever run in Wine is World of Warcraft and I found the performance to be less than acceptable.

Quipunotch104··on High radiation levels found in giant clams near Marshall Islands nuclear dump
Giant clams have an average lifespan of 100 years. They are filter feeders. The nuclear testing was done in the 50s and 60s. They were sucking up the fallout for decades.
Quipunotch104··on The avocado is an evolutionary anachronism
100 pounds? That ain't so mega. Wouldn't the prefix mega- imply they'd have to be, oh say... around a million pounds or so? A measly 100lb critter would just be a centifauna, right?
Quipunotch104··on Millennials ‘Make Farming Sexy’ in Africa, Where Tilling Soil Once Meant Shame
Is there such a thing as an "African millennial"? Are there Gen-Xers in Africa? Was there a baby boom to produce Baby Boomers? Aren't these generational terms relevant to the USA only? NYTimes recently covered the distinctions between Millennials and Gen-Xers, and none of those cultural touchpoints or characteristics of Millennials seem to be appropriate for describing any generation in Ghana.
Quipunotch104··on ZFS: The other new Apple file system that almost was–until it wasn’t (2016)
Apple has deep pockets and some people would really like to get their hands in them. Really disappointed in the author finishing those risks just because Oracle hasn't chosen to make too many lives hell. Just a few.
