Quillbert182··on State Governments Can’t Resist the Siren Song of Censorship
Yet we lost to the Taliban, who had none of those things.
Quillbert182··on Adults Only: European Airline Introduces Child-Free Areas on Long-Haul Flights
I'm going to disagree with you there. I took a lot of trips on Ryanair recently, and since they charge for overhead bin use, I kept everything under the seat in front of me. I was able to fit everything I needed (toiletries, clothes, laptop) for four days in a backpack under the seat in front of me.
Quillbert182··on FDA schedules meeting to establish regulatory rules for artificial womb trials
This is a bit disingenuous. "A fetus is a person and the state should force it to be carried to term" is generally not the argument, the argument is "A fetus is a person and you should not be allowed to actively kill it."
Quillbert182··on Helicopter Footage Reveals State Trooper Surveillance Capabilities
The sit-ins were specifically targeted to break the laws they wanted changed. I don’t think many people are protesting laws saying that you can’t stand in the middle of the road.
Quillbert182··on DOJ sues SpaceX for discriminating against asylees and refugees in hiring
If they aren't, they probably should be.
Quillbert182··on The FBI proves again it can’t be trusted with Section 702
It shouldn't be.
Quillbert182··on Homeowner arrested after trying to evict squatters from his own property
Ah, I see that on rereading, my mistake.
Quillbert182··on Homeowner arrested after trying to evict squatters from his own property
The problem is, this can make a random homeowner homeless. The article mentions a service member who comes home to find someone living in her primary residence, not a rental property. That person is now homeless because of this. It could also happen to a person on vacation.
Quillbert182··on Homeowner arrested after trying to evict squatters from his own property
The problem with that is it can happen to a random homeowner on vacation, not just landlords.
Quillbert182··on RFC 9446 Reflections on Ten Years Past the Snowden Revelations
He didn’t flee to Russia, he way fleeing to South America with a layover in Russia when the U.S. cancelled his passport, trapping him there.
Quillbert182··on GOP disdain for FBI jeopardizing renewal of warrantless domestic surveillance
Honestly, at this point I'll take whatever reason they can find to shut this program down.
Quillbert182··on US approves chicken made from cultivated cells
There needs to be some very strict labeling requirements for this. If I'm going to eat lab grown meat, I would like to know beforehand.
Quillbert182··on Armed robber asks for iPhone password and uses it to recover iCloud account
I believe this one can be overridden by clicking the "Forgot Passcode?" button under screen time and going through an iCloud password reset instead of logging in, assuming that your iCloud email is logged in on your iPhone. I believe this can be solved by having a recovery key on the phone, but someone would have to check me on that one.
Quillbert182··on Hate baggage fees? Wear a fishing vest on the plane
When you look at Ryanair’s prices, it is often readily apparent that they did.
Quillbert182··on Senators send letter questioning Mark Zuckerberg over Meta’s LLaMA leak
> within days of the announcement, the full model appeared on BitTorrent, making it available to anyone, anywhere in the world, without monitoring or oversight.

Oh no! Anyways…

Quillbert182··on Drone cops are coming for small-town America
This article is about police in Brookhaven, who, to the best of my knowledge, have had very little, if any, involvement with Cop City.

It seems unfair to judge someone’s actions based on that of their neighbors.

Quillbert182··on Windows 11 is getting a force quit option to close apps without the Task Manager
They must have added it back, for me right clicking in the empty taskbar brings up a menu with the options "Taskbar Settings" and "Task Manager".
Quillbert182··on The FBI as advanced persistent threat
I would argue that the FBI and ATF should not have been there at all, and the situation should have been handled by local and state law enforcement.
Quillbert182··on Rust: The wrong people are resigning
I believe the fork was created in response to a draft of a new trademark policy released by the Rust Foundation which included some portions about where the word “rust” could be used, so they are going out of their way to avoid using the word in order to prove a point.
Quillbert182··on US lawmakers urge PayPal to end ban on Palestinians in Occupied Territories
Not sure if this is relevant to your situation, but I found this blog post interesting:

Quillbert182··on Show HN: Beepberry – a portable e-paper computer for hackers
I believe it would, as they said in another comment that anything that fits the Zero W form factor would work, and the Zero 2 W has the exact same layout.
Quillbert182··on Could we stop Yellowstone from erupting with a giant geothermal power plant?
If the chances of that happening in the next 1000 years are one in a million, I would say it is absolutely not worth it.
Quillbert182··on Could we stop Yellowstone from erupting with a giant geothermal power plant?
Even if we could, to do so would be an ecological disaster, and it would destroy the natural wonders of Yellowstone.
Quillbert182··on Delaware will become the 22nd state to legalize recreational marijuana
It’s illegal in every state. California cannot override the federal government. They can choose not to enforce it, but federal law enforcement will still be able to arrest you.
Quillbert182··on Why does a plastic-wrapped turkey sandwich cost $15 at the NYC airport?
Atlanta is my home airport, and I can assure you that two hours worst case may be on the short side.
Quillbert182··on NPR quits Twitter after being labeled as 'state-affiliated media'
Hmm, I see your point. Names can indeed be misleading.
Quillbert182··on NPR quits Twitter after being labeled as 'state-affiliated media'
Keyword is "Public", not "National"
Quillbert182··on Grand jury votes to indict Donald Trump
> You mention Roe, and that is the most clear example of the GOP's strategy to undermine democracy by legislating via Republican-appointed judges instead of elected law makers.

To be fair, all Dobbs did was allow elected official to make the choice, and it was Roe that had Judges decide what the law was unilaterally for the whole country.

Quillbert182··on Yes, the US Government Threatening to Block TikTok Violates the First Amendment
Last I checked, there was no freedom of international trade enshrined in the First Amendment.
Quillbert182··on Cobble_stone – The texture of your childhood (2021)
I know this is a joke, but Minecraft was initially made public 14 years ago, and the 1.0 release was 12 years ago.
