Also, my phone has a password on it, and the coinbase app and my Authy app both had passwords on them.
So actually, your scenario isn't analagous at all. But thanks for automatically assuming I'm to blame!
You honestly think it's entirely reasonable that someone was able to get past 2FA, take all my coins (+ purchase more) with no security check, and then to have CB give me nothing but radio silence for 3 weeks? Literally not a single word? And then finally tell me "That sucks."?
Yes... but even here, context matters.
I do martial arts, and when I get hit in the face while sparring, it's useful feedback and something I can learn from. If my training partners weren't willing to hit me occasionally, they'd be doing me a disservice.
I don't see the contradiction. I'm fairly obsessed with self-improvement and my body and health are a big part of that. I'm certainly more attractive now than I was 5 years ago, for example.
Then how did Buddha himself learn it?
I get the liability issue, even if I think it's dumb, but I honestly don't think occasional drug use should have any bearing on even emergency service jobs. Yes, I am ok with my potential ER surgeon smoking a spliff to relax after a long stressful day.
If we as a society were more open and accepting of this, responsible users wouldn't feel the need to lie and we wouldn't have this problem.
The people that created the policies... sure. Most people? Why? I have no problem with current drug users. Silicon Valley is chock full of semi-regular to regular pot smokers. And who knows how many take a few hits of ecstasy or mushrooms at their annual Burning Man or Coachella outings. You really see this as an issue? To be honest, I actively prefer to work with these people. You wouldn't have hired Carl Sagan?
As long as it's not affecting the quality of their work, why do you even care?
If everyone was just racing against themselves, I really don't know that we'd ever have seen a 4-minute mile.
Not everyone has an obvious way to make money doing what excites them. The most exciting thing I do most days is climbing, but even the best climbers barely make money.
I don't mind programming... I certainly don't dread it, and occasionally I particularly enjoy a problem I'm working on. But I wouldn't say I walk to work each day "excited and enthusiastic."
I have a friend right now being courted by 3 companies right out of grad school, all of which are offering over 100k, plus bonuses.
Where are you seeing this?
Otherwise, this sounds like a great event.
