Philipp0205··on Show HN: Oorian – Build real-time web applications in Pure Java
I use a lot of Vaadin Flow for daily work. Looks interesting; will give it a try! I just skimmed quickly over the homepage, how does it differentiate?
Philipp0205··on Audiobookshelf: Self-hosted audiobook and podcast server
Can I follow your project somewhere?
Philipp0205··on Stop Java
Wtf is that :D
Philipp0205··on Frontend Java Development in 2025
Looks very interesting!
Philipp0205··on Mouseless – fast mouse control with the keyboard
There is also the Lenovo Trackpoint Keyboard II if you want something smaller.
Philipp0205··on Open source 'Eclipse Theia IDE' exits beta to challenge Visual Studio Code
Is there ar particular reason why VSCode does does not perform at these refactoring features? Has it something to do with the underlying technology or did nobody implement it properly yet?
Philipp0205··on React Native is not the future
My experience with the mobile app is also very sluggish. I think there are two reasons some people experience it differently: 1. They use high-end phones and don't notice the high CPU usage of Obsidian and 2. Their vault does contain only a few hundred files.
Philipp0205··on Ask HN: Favorite Podcast Episodes of 2022?
Not episodes but Podcasts:

Hunting Warhead: Follows a journalist and police on a global mission to expose the darkest corners of the internet.

https://www.cbc.ca/listen/cbc-podcasts/387-hunting-warhead

Death in ice valley: Podcast investigating a mystery about a dead women in Norway unsolved for almost half a century.

https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/w13xttp4

The Outlaw Ocean: A seven-part series that explores a gritty and lawless realm rarely seen, populated by traffickers and smugglers, pirates etc.

Philipp0205··on Show HN: WebStickies – Sticky notes for the internet
I like to use single file for that. The approach differs, it downloads the website as a single file and allows annotations like sticky notes as well.

Philipp0205··on Show HN: TaskTXT, plain text task-timing notepad
I really like the idea that is not meant as long-term to-do list, but for tasks that you are currently working on. I am pretty sure everybody already has some kind to to-do list, so your app complements that perfectly :)
Philipp0205··on Show HN: Figr.app – a multi-user, notepad style calculator (desktop app)
This is a downer...
Philipp0205··on After Obsidian and Logseq, I give Dendron a try
This is a great recommendation I never heard of before. As I really don't like electron apps, QOwnNotes might be the way to go :)
Philipp0205··on MBO – Garmin Watch Apps for Mountain Bike Orienteering
I use Komoot. But it is not specialized on MB you can hike/walk/run with it as well.
Philipp0205··on Mouseable: Replace a mouse or trackpad with the keyboard
Is there something similar on linux (instead of keynav)?
Philipp0205··on Win-Vind: Become an instant ninja in operating Windows at the speed of thought
Is there something similar for Linux?
Philipp0205··on Show HN: Obsidian for Mobile – Plain-text knowledge base on the go
Outliner and the zoom plugin give you the full outliner experience.
Philipp0205··on Show HN: Obsidian for Mobile – Plain-text knowledge base on the go
Yes they develop Dynalist as well but as far as I know it is on "hold" and they are focusing on Obsidian atm.
Philipp0205··on Show HN: Coronavirus Dashboard Focused on Clarity
Cool! Is there somewhere a explanation what the "halth score" means?
Philipp0205··on Plotinus – A searchable command palette in every modern GTK+ application
This is just awesome. To my regret many GTK application don't care much about keyboard shortcuts any more. That's why I personally often use terminal applications. This project could actually make many applications usable again.
Philipp0205··on Luhmann's Zettelkasten
Exactly the same thing happened to me. I was reading hours into this topic and nobody was able to explain this topic in a convenient way. I even read the German sourced.

But there was one article standing out: https://www.lesswrong.com/posts/NfdHG6oHBJ8Qxc26s/the-zettel...

It is a wall of text too but the best explanation I've found yet.

Philipp0205··on Roam – Tool for Thinking
Good recommendation. Thanks!
Philipp0205··on Zettelkästen?
I get an error visiting the page :( It it only me?
Philipp0205··on My OpenStreetMap Workflow: Mapping the Village of Marmari, Evia
I am starting getting used to mapping right now and I got much value out of this post. Ty!
Philipp0205··on A Programmer's Introduction to Mathematics
Look interesting!
Philipp0205··on Sleep is your superpower [video]
Very interesting!
Philipp0205··on Show HN: The Billion Dollar Tweet
Upvote for that effort (:

Is there a way to use one of them without hosting it yourself?
