PacificSpecific··on AI Can Write Your Code. It Can't Do Your Job
This is my experience as well. It's been great to make an application that's small in scope, doesn't require access to my main project repo and is basically a nice to have value add for the client.

I was already quite adept in the language and frameworks involved and the risk was very small so it wasn't a big time sink to review the application PR's. Had I not been it would have sucked.

For me the lesson learned wrt agentic coding is to adjust my expectations relative to online rhetoric and it can be sometimes be useful for small isolated one-offs.

Also it's once in a blue moon I can think of a program suitable for agentic coding so I wouldn't ever consider purchasing a personal license.

Wow good for them. I wish we took it that seriously in North America.
PacificSpecific··on A16z-backed Doublespeed hacked, revealing what its AI-generated accounts promote
Different Nick Mullins haha.

If you search "cumtown Nick Mullins Jordan Peterson" on YouTube that should get you there (yes it's crass but in the context of Jordan Peterson it's funny)

PacificSpecific··on Germany: Amazon is not allowed to force customers to watch ads on Prime Video
That was the point that made me remove Amazon from my life. Obviously it was building up but kudos to Amazon for being the one to push me over the line to quit up Amazon.

It's admittedly a bit tasteless but Nick Mullins Jordan Peterson impression leaves me in tears every time.

Nausicaa was definitely his best work. It was also one of his earlier works and that can be hard to recapture.
PacificSpecific··on Id Software devs form "wall-to-wall" union
Yeah that's happened to me too, better than nothing though!

Luckily my current work comps my time into PTO and they are generally fairly accurate. Definitely an exception though. This is the only job I've had in the games industry that has done this for me.

That sounds great. I've worked so many days where I work 18 hours for zero extra pay. I usually get a free dinner and a cab ride home and that's it.
