And that is a stupid argument anyway. Nobody is forcing anybody to smoke, use heroin, gamble, drink excessive amounts of alcohol, etc, that does not mean you can criticize the practice without having to "offer constructive criticism", sometimes, "Just dont do it" is enough.
I am Venezuelan, I will tell you what 99% of Venezuelans would tell you. They will prefer.... USD. Bitcoin had its heyday when the country was in that horrible time of hyperinflation and strict foreign currency control, and, since stupidity seems to have a limit the government relaxed a bit the controls and people also got smarter regarding the use of USD. Now, people pay using USD bills, you can have USD accounts in Venezuela (risky but possible) and a sizable part of the population have an US bank account so they pay within Venezuela with Zelle transfers. Bitcoin is still used but by far people will default to the convenience and security of the green beast.
> For ~100eur/month on hertzner you can get a 16core Zen3, 128GB RAM with 8TB of NVMe SSD.
What option is that? The closest I see is the CCX41, but that is 40% more expensive, 140 Eur/month, half the RAM (64 GB) and ~4% of the disk space (360 GB)
As someone whose German is rusty and is try to not lose it, what kind of German media you think is worth the trouble?, in other words, publications where you will find insights that are not simply a repetition/regurgitation of what it is said in English.
Yes, see what they wrote after fully charging me and refusing a charge back:

It is the Zeitgeist. "We know what it is better for you, peasant, we will create this cozy, little garden and you will never leave it, and if you complain you will be expelled, like Adam and Eve", or like the Xbox guy said recently "If you are banned from one online service you should be automatically banned from all of them"
I was blind-robbed by a German company because of that. I paid a full year, was never given access,I "opened" a ticket and they answered a full week later asking me to fill 2 forms with lots PIID+ national ID card + Credit card, I told them to get lost. For being a supposedly modern, democratic society Germany seems very backward regarding online things, it is not surprised that for a economy of its size and influence the number of truly innovative "modern" online companies is rather low.
BTW, if someone knows of an HONEST company that provides online fax US numbers (Damn you IRS) I am all ears.
I dont know how it is in other European countries, but at least in Spain, the slightest change in dialect+ some geographical distance will make people call their dialect a different language, and they may even not be wrong. And it is funny because that guy has a very marked Catalan accent, but they say it is the French side that brought French phonology to Occitan making it very difficult to understand.
Just to offer a different perspective, I worked in a "normal" blue chip company, and people in most roles (finance, marketing, sales, logistics, legal) preferred by far to work away from the office the days it was allowed. Only R&D (for obvious reasons) didnt have that chance and even then it was not unheard of. Going to an open plan office destroys your soul.

Meh,plenty of deluded kids there, but the core idea is basically true. Nobody is arguing against work per se (most healthy humans like to do stuff), they are arguing about the XXI century version of soulless indentured service many jobs are. Productivity exploded in the last 50 years and yet the people are still running the same thread-mill for even less benefits so I dont blame anybody who gives the middle-finger to the corporate world and try to find an alternative.
Maybe in tech, but that is not the case in other businesses, I would argue that big consulting firms, like McKinsey, do exactly the opposite. It seems a winning strategy.
I coulda/sorta buy this argument for Apple(though I am pretty sure that is not the main reason people buy Iphones) , but for Android?? Curation??? Hahahahhahahahahaha
If there is something I have learned over the years and I have confirmed on this thread is that if you dont like a language or the direction is taking the best course of action is to pick another one. Trying to argue with the developers is a unproductive use of your time. Another option is to wait 3-5 years and revisit the project, you will be surprised that in 90% of the cases either the project is dead on the water or the same problems still remain.
Why would you write a novel after Dostoevski? Why would you write a song after Chico Buarque? Why anybody would pay football after Pelé? And so on and so forth...
