OrgNet··on “We have no reason to believe 5G is safe”
We have no reason to believe that any computer system and/or software is safe because bugs always pop up... I know of no software that is perfect.
OrgNet··on 38 People are looking at this post right now
Lying, just like "parallel construction".
OrgNet··on Disney+ streaming uses draconian DRM
it's worth a try, if you care (I pay for Netflix and I don't use it because it's easier to download the content somewhere else)... my Sharp "smart" TV will even stop supporting Netflix in December because they say the old software will no longer be compatible.
OrgNet··on Zappos 2012 data breach settlement
at least there was more then one attorney getting that fee /s
OrgNet··on Google’s new voice recorder app transcribes in Real-Time, even when offline
I don't care if it takes a few minutes to process the data... I just want the app
OrgNet··on I just lost my wallet on the way home from work
it was clever but he just didn't want to get caught by the surveillance state /s

I lost my phone one day and a stranger returned it by guessing my 1111 pin. People are generally good. He threatened me with a $20 fee but I agreed to pay and he refused it.

OrgNet··on Google’s new voice recorder app transcribes in Real-Time, even when offline
so, where can I download the app for a different phone? I'd like to record to text my day on a phone that has no internet. I can't see it on the "play" store
OrgNet··on Twitter says it will restrict retweeting world leaders who break rules
just what we need... more censure in the US... /s

Now if they fail to block something illegal or something else of that nature, can they be held liable?

OrgNet··on LinkedIn loses appeal over access to user profiles
it depends
OrgNet··on Singapore to become first country banning ads on sugary drinks
Do you have a concrete example for the moisture retention case?
OrgNet··on Singapore to become first country banning ads on sugary drinks
thanks for the info., I didn't know when it started, but either way, it sounds wrong... pretty sure it wouldn't affect most recipes to use only one kind of sugar
OrgNet··on LinkedIn loses appeal over access to user profiles
process it on your personal computer and use the output in your startup

for IMDb, they have a lot of data that is easily accessible, not sure what is missing though: https://datasets.imdbws.com/...
OrgNet··on Singapore to become first country banning ads on sugary drinks
And in the US, they started using 3 "different kinds of sugars" to make sugar appear lower on the list of ingredients that are sorted by quantity... i.e.: sugar, high fructose corn syrup & corn syrup
OrgNet··on Ask HN: How often do you vote on posts in the “new” tab?
> and it isn’t random.

that might be a problem

and I think it is a problem by looking at the posts on the front page with very low vote counts... they appear to be ads sometimes.

OrgNet··on Tim Cook’s Company-Wide Email on Hkmap.live Doesn’t Add Up
I don't. PRISM doesn't work how you described it, as far as I know... It is basically a backdoor to Apple for the NSA (so whatever Apple can see, the NSA can also see).
OrgNet··on Tim Cook’s Company-Wide Email on Hkmap.live Doesn’t Add Up
first search result that I found: https://www.cheatsheet.com/technology/apple/is-apple-lying-a... (didn't read it though, but they lied about being part of PRISM)
OrgNet··on Tim Cook’s Company-Wide Email on Hkmap.live Doesn’t Add Up
Apple lied about being in bed with the NSA, too... I don't know why anyone consider Apple much better then Google when it comes to privacy...
OrgNet··on Cameras Could Replace Car Mirrors?
We will need that for the computer driver... so it is probably good to beta test on humans first.
OrgNet··on Newsrooms, let’s talk about G Suite
e2e encryption takes google mostly out of the loop (except for the "meta" data)
OrgNet··on Court says FCC’s net neutrality repeal can’t stop state laws
we used to have the local AM radio give us the time weekly
OrgNet··on IRS issues additional guidance on tax treatment for cryptocurrency
> I’m donating my million coins to charity ...and will be deducting the value of the donation ...unless of course the IRS says it’s not a real asset...
OrgNet··on Ask HN: Cool stuff that's still completely unregulated?
Most cars have GPS and are connected to the internet [1]... and broadcast unique IDs over the air (TPMS)... we need a way to disable all of that.

OrgNet··on Google, Xiaomi, and Huawei affected by zero-day flaw that unlocks root access
the source is me, and the reason why I said that is because they usually block you from being root on your own devices... sometime, bugs like these are the only way to really own your device.
OrgNet··on Google, Xiaomi, and Huawei affected by zero-day flaw that unlocks root access
this is a feature and not a bug
OrgNet··on EFF Wins Access to License Plate Reader Data to Study Law Enforcement Use
hope so... it would (maybe) make people realize how bad of a privacy invasion it is... cars should not have a visible tag... they should also not have all these wireless transmitters (like TPMS with unique IDs)
OrgNet··on China laying tracks for 1,000km/h maglev trains
I do...
OrgNet··on China laying tracks for 1,000km/h maglev trains
they are also struggling to build enough homes for everyone, aren't they?
OrgNet··on Intel slashes prices in face of AMD competition
you can multitask on a 1-core CPU... because the CPUs are much faster then you at switching tasks... that's how it used to be.
