Pakistan has to pay 2-3 billion USD in next few weeks or else they will default.
They have to pay 8-10B USD this year or they will default.
They have to pay 70-80B USD in next 5 years or they will default.
Pakistan right now has 2 billion dollars in their forex that too because Saudi gave them 3 billion USD some time back.
Pakistan can collapse in just few months like Sri Lanka.
It is now 75 years and Pakistan is still used by USA, Russia, China, UK and even smaller countries like Sri Lanka to keep India occupied.
Pakistan never should had existed.
It was created with a great human tragedy, it will go down with a great human tragedy.
Pakistan with 250 million population is out of money, power, oil, fertilizer and even food and water because they are spending 1/3rd of their money maintaining their army.
The disruption has to come from bypassing credit card companies like Visa and Mastercard.
In India, almost every merchant is using UPI which saves them fees of credit card processing.
The world banking is getting more advanced and technical and I am sure payment gateways can bypass the credit card and currency conversion fees with direct bank to bank transfer.
For larger Amount, we are asking our customers to use Wise instead of stripe or PayPal as the saving for us is significant.
If you can offer subscription model and can do bank to bank transfer with 0.5% fees, you will disrupt the whole subscription industry relying on visa/Master card monopoly. Not only this, banks also charge very high currency conversion fees which you can disrupt.
You of course need to build lot of things from scratch but with most of the banking now a days going online with new APIs, it is possible.
So if a customer pays us $100, we are getting $91 to our bank account which is absolutely ridiculous.
If anyone looking for next $10B-$100B business idea, work on making the transaction fees to 1% and you can take business from stripe and PayPal immediately.
Wise.com is doing this and I hope more such companies work on this.
They want you to keep track of your karma and get positive dopamine hit with the upvote alerts.
These sites are like drugs. I am surprised why there is not much talk about this.
I think bigger problem is poor moderation. Most of the mods are driven by some agenda and even propaganda.
Instead of focusing on quality, they focus on how their subreddit content can be aligned to their agenda.
Any user who doesn't comply, gets banned. Since roughly only 1% user actively engage in a subreddit, update macha end with Eco chamber.
It will definitely hurt us financially as we have around 10 domains with 20 email ids. We can't delete them due to older emails but can't complain as Google did allowed free account for 10 years.
I hope there is a service Migration of emails from Gmail to other platforms.
Also, you always need to be extra careful with payment code. We test it multiple times before deploying it.
Granted all this wouldn't had helped OP, still you need to test everything before upgrading and deploying.
I am thinking of using Microsoft Teams or will try to create a simple app by myself as last option.
Iirc Reddit stopped open sourcing their code from 2017 and I guess understanding and running that 12 year old spaghetti code wasn't worth it anyway. I don't see anything useful on their github page too https://github.com/reddit
I will explore some other frameworks too. Most likely I will go with mongo rather than postgres.
I am building it for a region only so I know it can never get traffic comparable to SO.
Check freelancing sites to get some idea. Plenty of guys getting long term work at $60-$80 an hour.
AWS can certainly do a better job in telling me how to optimise my AWS hardware and expenses
In OPs case, if you search in Google, you will find this AWS hacking happen a lot with many users including me and AWS support was extremely kind to me to give additional credits to offset that expense.
I am sure most of Twitter activity is bots and trolls. Banning them will hurt Twitter significantly.
Controversial posts on social media like Facebook, Twitter etc get most attention and user involvement.
Social media sites will only do virtue signaling but never fix the root problem.
I remember zoho was down because their domain provider blocked their whole domain due to some of their emails getting flagged as spam.
I don't want to make this post political by mentioning names but this post has good information on the founders and their political background https://www.quora.com/Is-Thewire-in-biased
