Insomnia
Numberwang··on Single dose of psilocybin eased cancer patients' anxiety, depression for years
How do you guys all seem to have these experiences? I'm in Europe and would not have a clue how to test this.
Numberwang··on Ask HN: Do you ever contact people who have had a positive impact on you?
I had someone contact me after a few years had passed to give this type of feedback. It felt great. The world needs more weirdos.
Numberwang··on 4.2 Kiloyear Event
In what way is this evidence against man made climate change?
Numberwang··on The V language now compiles itself in 0.09 seconds
You need to stop making up deadlines for yourself when things will be ready. Similarly with your IM people lose confidence in you if you are not delivering what you say you will. Just say you are working towards something until it is ready, to avoid this.

Good luck in the future. You clearly have a lot going for you.

Numberwang··on Four kinds of documentation
This is brilliant.

"Explanation - Topic" sounds a bit wonky as a section/title. Does anyone have a suggestion what to call those types of articles?

Numberwang··on Japanese addressing system
I've traveled a lot and Osaka holds a special place in my heart. I felt so peaceful and relaxed, despite being a major city.
Numberwang··on Show HN: Tailwind.run – An Online Playground for Tailwind CSS
It looks great. Do you know of any good tutorials for Tailwind to accompany the site?
Numberwang··on Lessons learned from rewriting code
This makes me think of groovehq who just recently forced all their customers on to their new rewritten from scratch product.

This after one full year of their customers begging them not to.

So now they have a new modern (in the 2017 sense) product which is worse in many ways and with a whole set of new bugs. And some very unhappy customers.

Improve your products. Don't replace them.

Numberwang··on China unveils 600 kph maglev train prototype
That's less than 12hrs London to New Delhi. Imagine the possibilities.
Numberwang··on Google Wing will deliver to about 100 homes in Canberra
I don't believe noise is solved until I see a video of it.
Numberwang··on How Boeing, FAA certified the suspect 737 MAX flight control system
How would you design presentation preparation with that in mind? Or anything for that matter?
Numberwang··on Is porn making young men impotent?
Bad diet is much more likely the culprit.
Numberwang··on DRAM Prices in ‘Freefall’
FireFox is not an option. It is an order of magniturd slower than Chrome.

Does anyone know anything about the memory usage of Edge?

Numberwang··on Airbnb to Acquire HotelTonight
Having lived in close to a 100 airbnb apartments soon and never once experienced an issue with the checking and checkout or a larger concern about the quality or communication, I'd recommend you to give it another go if you have the chance. Because your concerns are not warranted.
Numberwang··on Polar as a Personal Knowledge Repository
Any darkmode for Evernote yet? It is useless without it.
Numberwang··on W3schools.dev Redirects to Mozilla Developer Network
Trashy and disgusting. I hope it's not Mozilla doing this.
Numberwang··on YouTube bans comments on all videos of children
Yes it seemed like a big overreaction from Youtubes side.

I enjoy his channel, so I really hope it doesn't affect the output.

Numberwang··on World's largest bee ‘rediscovered’ after 38 years
Don't worry, we will soon have it killed off along with the rest of the insects.
Numberwang··on They Thrive on All-Meat Diet (1929)
Contrary to your beliefs there is lot's of data in favor of an all plant based diet (which i do not follow so I do not push any agenda here).

The data has been pretty clear since the early 90s and the large population studies that were made then.

Numberwang··on Cal Newport on Why We'll Look Back at Our Smartphones Like Cigarettes
Didnt someone do a summary of that book in like a single page somewhere? As in, there were good ideas but it could be summed up to a short paper. I can't find the link now.
Numberwang··on Writing Network Drivers in Rust [pdf]
Is this on YouTube? I can't find the talk.
Numberwang··on China's largest electric scooter maker Niu files for $150M IPO in the US
Have you ever tried one? They are amazing in so many ways. Silent, compact and environmentally friendly.

They are everywhere here in Malta and it is reducing traffic congestion very noticeably.

Numberwang··on China’s all-seeing surveillance network
Well the rules should be known just as laws are, not a personal opinion by Mr Inifinitypants.
Numberwang··on China’s all-seeing surveillance network
I think the concept of social credit has a lot of merits. But the risk for overreach is substantial unfortunately.

I'd love to get rid of people who are unable to ride a train like a social human from the trains and lock people out of cinemas who can't behave as one should expect.

Numberwang··on Preventing Muscle Loss as We Age
This is too stupid to answer to, but have you noticed Yao Ming and Britney Spears do not look the same? Good.

Now have you noticed carbon atoms are strikingly similar? Good, almost there.

Somewhere in-between these two views unique features emerge. Tell me where on the scale of atom to human the quads are? There is plenty in these pictures that is unique in the two persons depicted.

There is no need to lie to make a good argument for exercise. This image belong on your grandmothers Facebook page at best.

Numberwang··on Preventing Muscle Loss as We Age
The patterns on the 40 and 70 year old triathlete match far too well. I'm calling bullshit. The "70 year old triathlete" scan is just further up the leg of the 40 year old.
Numberwang··on India court legalises gay sex in landmark ruling
I've seen your politicians. There is plenty of backwards to go around.
Numberwang··on Why We Need Web 3.0
"It was over four years ago that I coined the term “Web 3.0.”"

Pay heed, as today I the great Numberwang coin the term "Web 4.0"

Numberwang··on How to Design for the Modern Web
This is amazing. Is there a BBC version as well (which would fix not just the design, but also the content)?
