Numberwang··on Apple self-driving car in accident: California DMV filing
They should have moved into health and personal medicine instead.
Numberwang··on Lego Wants to Remake Its Toy Bricks without Anyone Noticing
There were lot's of similar companies at that time. This is a silly thing to get upset about.

Numberwang··on Pandoc
I wish they’d fix the md to adoc table conversion issues. Apart from that I love it.
Numberwang··on Paradise Lost: How Tourists Are Destroying the Places They Love
I'm a fairly experienced traveler. In my opinion what you need to do is to chose better places.

Belgrade instead of Prague

Visby instead of Copenhagen

Cork instead of Dublin

And the same applies in other parts of the world.

(I learned this the hard way)

Numberwang··on Elusive mitochondrial connection to inflammation uncovered
From this guy:

https://nutritionfacts.org/video/turmeric-curcumin-plants-vs...

I find him convincing in general in terms of diet etc and he has a lot of other good content.

My opinion on melatonin comes from him too, but I can't find the relevant material.

Numberwang··on Elusive mitochondrial connection to inflammation uncovered
I'd recommend turmeric instead of curicumin and to not take melatonin but I'm happy you are feeling better, so whatever works for you.
Numberwang··on Pop Songs Written by Native Speakers of Swedish
Haha that is brilliantly painful to read.
Numberwang··on Pop Songs Written by Native Speakers of Swedish
Yep
Numberwang··on Pop Songs Written by Native Speakers of Swedish
As a Swede I really enjoyed reading this. It's not easy to pay attention to the idioms of a foreign language, especially when they are sort of jumbled up in your mind with all the Swedish ones. But it's just to drive on.
Numberwang··on Vitamin D, the Sunshine Supplement, Has Shadowy Money Behind It
Just take a normal dose..
Numberwang··on Ask HN: What software should I use to write a textbook?
Latex is a bad recommendation I'd say. Just use AsciiDoc. The rest I agree with.
Numberwang··on Lenovo Launches Ultra-Thin ThinkPad P1: X1 Carbon Meets Workstation
I quite like Lenovos charger though. It's the only one I have not managed to destroy in a year of owning a laptop.
Numberwang··on Salt not as damaging to health as previously thought, says study
So many confident comments in this thread. Why not make yourselves aware of the many big studies which all point in the same direction instead of just regurgitating what little pop science you are aware of?
Numberwang··on Waymo's Self-Driving Cars Are Near: Meet a Teen Who Rides One Every Day
Every large infrastructure project, such as bridges etc has an expected number of death. We know this and accept this is a sacrifice we can live with. Self driving cars should be seen as no different. And once it is safer than human drivers it will pay back those lives.
Numberwang··on Is Type 2 Diabetes Reversible at Scale?
Thank you for being a voice of reason in all this. When this ketosis madness ends and we go back to eating plant based like our ancestors did the world will be a better place with healthier humans and no factory farms.
Numberwang··on Ask HN: How do you organize/track your personal goals?
I spend hours making notes and then I do not read them or action them.

Instead I do the bare minimum to get through the day.

Numberwang··on Is killing the boom the key to supersonic air travel?
I'm totally with you, but it is truly annoying the amount of subsidies the flight industry get. I've often taken trains across Europe due to my preference, but when the plane ticket is €20 and the train ticket is €400 it seems I'm fighting against the system.
Numberwang··on Designing the Perfect Date and Time Picker
Yes that's what I mean. I'm Swedish and it does not follow the Swedish input standard which I much prefer to any other.
Numberwang··on Designing the Perfect Date and Time Picker
It's too bad these can't pick up local preferences of input format.
Numberwang··on Why Gov.uk content should be published in HTML and not PDF
That sounds interesting. I will check it out.
Numberwang··on Why Gov.uk content should be published in HTML and not PDF
I'm a big fan of asciidoc and quite sad that it didn't take of as a default format for documents.
Numberwang··on Microsoft announces Surface Go
I can understand that. But using market as a usefulness predictor is not really right. How many people haven't thrown away money on an iPad only to use it a dozen or so times?
Numberwang··on Microsoft announces Surface Go
In my experience 10" is too small for a laptop. 13.3-14" is perfect and still quite portable. No one wants a tables, its useless just like the watches. Phones cover those categories.
Numberwang··on Elon Musk sub 'impractical', won't be used
Actually it is kind of cylindrical:

Numberwang··on Seriously, Juice Is Not Healthy
Seems like it doesn’t matter what scientists say. People still go for stupid things like keto and other weird train wreck diets.
Numberwang··on Founder to CEO: How to build a great company from the ground up
This is mainly due to the demographic of HN. Lot's of young people here with a lot of energy and little life experience.
Numberwang··on Friendly web development tutorials for complete beginners
Yes thank you. What I meant was does it also have grid? Grid seems to be more useful than flexbox in most cases.
Numberwang··on Friendly web development tutorials for complete beginners
Looks good. Does it have chapters on Grid as well as Flexbox?
