1. It's true and you believed/supported them
2. It's true and you didn't support them
3. It's a lie and you believed/supported them
4. It's a lie and you didn't support them
Now for each of these think of the worst-case scenario. Find out which one is the _worst case_ scenario and...and this is really important...do not, by any means, support that scenario/option.
In this example: I think we can all say that the worst scenario, however improbable it seems (it's still probable), is that AI takes over the world and kills us all. So just like with the climate change, let's do the bare minimum to prevent that. If we're wrong and, as many commenters wrote here, we still block further development of AI, the worst that will happen is that some companies will catch up. Wow. Really? To me this is a no brainer. On one hand we're risking humanity and on the other hand someone makes some money or saves their company from being late to the AI race. It's like comparing if you'd rather eat literal poo or have someone else eat two apples.
Omg you should see a therapist.
Just my 2 cents on this strawman part of discussion.
How about Germany pays Netflix because German citizens are watching Netflix too much and are using Netflix infrastructure?
Ridiculous.
If we had the same stance for all the other things that never happened before and were considered impossible, we would have never went to space and achieved many other great firsts.
What's next? Should we all install spyware on our computers and let GitHub automatically delete local copies of forks as well?
GitHub and the company/person, who deleted the original private repo, should inform the owner of the fork that the main repo was deleted. If need be, company/person can request fork owner to delete their private fork and local clone as well.
It will happen again. I believe they have terrible tech leads / managers who push/approve wrong things. They also grew exponentially during the pandemic, so that grew their manager's incompetence exponentially as well.
Web3 is just laughable. Again, some people.
Google is obviously not dead.
However, I think with AI, there's a huge potential. It will change the world, the way some things are done and some jobs are gonna go away and new jobs will appear. Much more disrupting than a f web3 joke.
The issue is not Airbnb or not. The issue is guests etiquette and difficulty to penalize bad/loud/disrespectful people.
Did you tell your family that, instead of asking you "how are you?" superficially, and expecting no detailed response, they should just cut it down to "hi" or "yo"?
This is not how humans work. We're stupid and we need useless sugar coating.
Do you think that none of the people using ChatGPT to get dates knows how to speak?
I'm a long time tinder user. I've many girls. The most exhausting part is trying to be funny to catch the girl's attention in the first few messages. Why do I have to do that anyway fake part of the entertainment for the ladies? I'd let a bot do it and I'll entertain them when we meet in person. Saves my time and I don't see how it hurts anyone.
They proactively shut the campaign down.
What happens when you need to change a password on one site? How do you know which password algorithm you're using on which site now?
Why am I asking you this? Because I was in the same situation and it became difficult to track. Now I keep all my passwords in a password manager, my 2FA codes in another app/service, and my recovery codes in the third place that's not connect with the first two in any way. Similarly, obviously, I don't have my 2FA service account + password in my password manager.
First you claim this is useless, then, in this reply you claim that you've used similar services before. Make up your mind.
Yes, it's simplistic and ugly af. But don't attack the idea.
And, I guess, you got that link from somewhere, or rather from someone.
