Mistletoe··on Salad Theory
pedantry/ˈped(ə)ntrē/

Pedantry is an excessive, boastful, or annoying focus on minor details, formal rules, and trivial points of learning.

Mistletoe··on GPU World
Weird things like this website are top signals. “A chicken in every pot.”
Mistletoe··on Iceland votes on whether to restart talks on joining EU
Fiat money literally is a scam though after the gold standard was abandoned.

Mistletoe··on “It works better in the app”
I remember the “There’s an app for that” commercials well. I remember screaming at my tv that we already had a name for that- a program.

Mistletoe··on Nvidia agrees to acquire Hugging Face for $13B
Absolutely none of this makes sense and the thing that amazes me is how long it has continued. Future historians will just laugh at how stupid and obvious the crash was.
Mistletoe··on Study reveals UnitedHealth's profit margins four times what it claimed [pdf]
I really don’t think you should do this. It just makes you look dumb, not authentic. There is a lot more to LLM writing than perfect grammar and punctuation that gives it away.
Mistletoe··on Tim Curry has died
Who is the third since they come in 3s? Can we lose one bad one for the two good? I’ve got someone in mind.
Mistletoe··on France reaches 94.9% fiber coverage in 2026
“Unfair to slower technologies”. Insane statements like this would make the government in Orwell’s 1984 blush.
Mistletoe··on My Friend Aaron
You write wonderfully, direct, heartfelt, human, real, the opposite of LLM output, and that’s the highest honor I can bestow.
Mistletoe··on Apple introduces M6 and M5 Ultra
I always just assume that super expensive computers are like hot rods and an expensive hobby.
Mistletoe··on Apple introduces M6 and M5 Ultra
Sounds like you are telling us it’s a new paradigm?

Mistletoe··on Vintage Artificial Intelligence: Before It Got Awkward
Oh, that's much too low, Tik-Tok was elected President.
Mistletoe··on Xiaomi: New CPU matches Apple cores single threaded, much faster multithreaded
Who is the fast food place?
Mistletoe··on Cancer-related mortality among US pilots and flight attendants
It’s wild I can’t even read the abstract to understand what they found.
Mistletoe··on Google has acquired the data of failed US airline Spirit
“Gemini, do the opposite of everything in the Spirit archives.”
Mistletoe··on Colorado River plummets as lakes Powell and Mead drop to record lows
This year was the first year I finally realized how things are going to be from now on and only getting worse. I’m a gardener and the plants are having such a tough time, many trees in my neighborhood are already bare from dropping their leaves from the heat. I’ve been looking into just landscaping with native plants moving forward that can handle the heat. I have drip irrigation, but that does nothing when air temps stay above 100 for days on end. The world isn’t prepared for this in any way. What happens when the breadbasket of your country gets like this?
Mistletoe··on How do I permanently disable random Google Photos popup to backup photos? (2024)
I love you.
Mistletoe··on DNA reveals a society organised around women in pre-Roman Britain
It’s a not uncommon way society and lineage was done in Native American tribes. After all, who knows for sure who the father of a child is but the mother? :)
Mistletoe··on In 1962, Egypt's Missile Program Lost Its Key Scientist Without a Trace
As opposed to the real hit on science by the sleeper cell of idiocy in the White House.
Mistletoe··on The American sports plutocracy
Why did they come out in the French Revolution and countless other times and they won’t now?
Mistletoe··on Every Fucking Website (2020)
CFO should be fired immediately.
Mistletoe··on Newfoundland has a hard bread shortage, but why do they eat it?
> A large portion of those biscuits would have gone into the traditional dish fish and brewis. Pronounced “brews,” brewis is made by soaking hard bread in water overnight then boiling it to soften it before serving it with salt cod.

I don’t think we realize how good we have it these days.

Mistletoe··on The “mechanical miracle” that ruined Mark Twain’s life
That didn’t ruin his life, merely his shorts.

Mistletoe··on The climate benefits of retiring an operational combustion engine vehicle
The Prius up until about 2016 uses a NiMH battery that is different than Lithium ones.
Mistletoe··on John C. Lilly on solid state intelligence and the elimination of man (1978)
If man is eliminated, solid state intelligence is eliminated. Point to one machine, other than the Oxford Electric Bell, that is still running that is even 100 years old without human intervention. We are the cockroaches of nature, we cannot all be killed, the time for that was one of the genetic bottlenecks humans have gone through, but it's over now, humans in some form will be here until they either leave the planet ahead of the Sun swallowing it or die on it.

Mistletoe··on Amazon Is Creating the Biggest Pollution Source in the Country
Stop the system, everyone is miserable in it anyway.
Mistletoe··on LinkedIn Feed Blocker
I recently got what I hope to be my last job ever, and I cannot wait to banish linkedin to the netherrealm forever. It's just so creepy, I don't want people to be able to find my face, where I work every day, and whole job and education history when they google my name.
