Mankhool··on Ask a mod – how did this post die so quickly?
I also posted today to Ask HN about LaunchRock type services. It was killed almost immediately.
Mankhool··on Ask HN: what are the best ways to learn algorithms and data structes?
Hey Ahaz I wanted to reply to your question on this link https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=7176039 I work for a TV Studio that is part of a global Telco. Please put a contact email in you link!
Mankhool··on Ask HN: Do you have startup ideas to share?
I read about this yesterday http://www.google.com/atap/projecttango/

Last September I posted this on my blog: Imagine sitting in an airport, for example, and being able to join a First Person Shooter Game where all of your opponents are in the same airport – they could be other travellers, airport staff, pilots – anyone. But here is the main feature of this game: The virtual location you see in the game IS the airport and it is created using all relevant data (floorplans of the airport, wayfinding apps, and apps on your phone that are able to map rooms, measure direction, etc.). The game environment in which you travel seeking your opponents is generated using data being generated by their devices as well – sort of a micro crowd sourced battlefield with some help from publicly available data.

Where do I find a Tango Developer to work with to create this Massively Multiplayer Mobile game?

Mankhool··on Ask HN: What will you pay for?
No actually. I'm a MAM and my photographers often dump photos on my desk with ZERO metadata. I have no way of identifying everyone. If everyone had a name badge with an RFID then taking their photo would collect their name, title and company information. Also, do CCs use RFID?
Mankhool··on Startup Idea: The Best Way to Buy Furniture – Would You Use This?
I think you should help your prospective customers by creating a section for "Apartment-sized" furniture. Most furniture being sold today is still House-sized and/or designed for very large people. Geometry is everything. Also, it would be cool if you could aggregate offerings from small, independent furniture makers. I like it already. Keep going.
Mankhool··on Ask HN: What will you pay for?
I would pay for an RFID reader that I can attach to a DSLR that will dump data it reads into an IPTC field.
Mankhool··on Ask HN: What TLD should I get to avoid U.S. tampering?
Switzerland (.ch)
Mankhool··on The Cost of Living in 11 of the Most Expensive Cities in the World
Vancouver typically rates in the top 3 and is more expensive than Toronto.
Mankhool··on Ask HN: What do you wear to job interviews?
Dressing down, ubiquitously known as "being comfortable", says that you don’t care about how you look, as if your appearance were an entirely private matter that has nothing to do with anyone else. It’s the exact opposite: what you wear is part of the visible environment, as relevant as the architecture, the decor, the food on the table, the scents in the air. - Rebecca Mielke
Mankhool··on Nintendo battles patent troll and wins … a patent portfolio
Way to go Nintendo. Hopefully others will follow suit when faced with patent trolls.
Mankhool··on Ask HN: What's the best way to get 5% on a million dollars?
Thanks for posting bushido. That was great.
Mankhool··on Ask HN: How do I become more careful?
Think before you act.
Mankhool··on Ask HN: is bondero.com a weird domain name?
Yes, or Bondo - for filling holes in rusty cars.
Mankhool··on French-UAE Intel Satellite Deal in Doubt – US Parts Raise Security Concerns
This may just be postering on the part of the UAE Government to get out of the deal, because they have been offered better terms from elsewhere. A relative in the US who was a very small military contractor delivered a radar system to the UAE Government last decade - on time, and on budget - only to be told that they didn't want it anymore and since they didn't want it, they were not going to pay for it. The company could not tolerate that loss and went bankrupt.
Mankhool··on What is everyone's startup resolution for 2014?
Ship something . . . dammit.
Mankhool··on Jackpocket - first app to buy your Mega Millions from your phone
The first? I believe it was thelotter.com
Mankhool··on Ask HN: What project (not launched yet) are you working on at the moment?
One Degree: Distributed Intelligence
Mankhool··on Ask HN: How would you invest $500k?
Commercial RE.
Mankhool··on Ask HN: Should web services recycle usernames after 120 days of inactivity?
I kind of like this idea. I think it's terrible to have to succumb to a username like mankhool48723 when you really want something, better. If you were creating a new service today, how would you handle usernames, not about just the use-it-or-lose-it issue, but about username creation and uniqueness? Logan 6 identify please.
Mankhool··on Dell introduces 28" 4K Ultra HD Monitor for under $1K, shipping early 2014
The 32" version is $3539 in Canada. http://accessories.dell.com/sna/products/Gaming_Accessories/...
Mankhool··on Snapchat is raising another $55M, with a $2B valuation
Would someone more informed that I am about VC please explain why this is a better move than taking $3B or $4B in cash?
Mankhool··on Ask HN: Review my startup, didlog.com
"We don't sell, share, or NSA your data. No one can access your log without your say so."

NSA is now a verb. Is this the first instance of this? Very cool if it is.

Mankhool··on Ask HN: I have an iOS app with 2 million downloads. What should I do?
Which app is it?
Mankhool··on Ask HN: Universe expands. What's the area outside the universe called?
Exoverse.
Mankhool··on Review my side project: SOVNDWAVE
It would be great to hear some of it without having to sign up for something.

One of my favourites is Boo.com http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Boo.com
Mankhool··on Ask HN: Have you had trouble getting a job after a failed startup?
No, but I had trouble getting a job after working abroad for 10 years. There was huge unspoken resentment from most employers that I had dared to leave Canada to work elsewhere. In her book, "Eight Months on Gaza Street", Hilary Mantel wrote something like, "It's almost as if by going away that you were offering some criticism of their own lives". That's exactly what it felt like.
