Lord_Zero··on California farmers are struggling to sell grapes as demand for wine drops
Could also be rapid change in blood sugar waking you up as well. Happens to me too and then im wide awake for 2-3 hours.
Lord_Zero··on How did AMD Ryzen get 50% faster in two years?
Maybe I should do the same. I have 3800XT, I could go to 5900XT for like $300. I don't see myself upgrading anytime soon because these prices are laughable and will eventually come back down when the AI bubble pops.
Lord_Zero··on There's a high chance of devices being sold with GrapheneOS preinstalled in 2027
Eh... get protection plan, or trade up every year for big discount on the next flagship. Or with AT&T plans you are getting a "free" phone fairly often if you don't intend to leave the carrier for a few years (most people wont). The parent comment you replied to makes some assumptions that you have to spend full price all at once every year which is false. Also, there's almost always a deep discount on Pixel phones around most holidays.

And if you truly are ultra budget $300 phone guy then sure this doesn't apply to you.

The hype train must keep chuggin or it all collapses.
Lord_Zero··on Claude Opus 5.5
The test they performed to port HAProxy from C to Rust is crazy.

Yes but Google OAuth is a nightmare if you want to "publish" your client so that anyone can use it. If only you use it, you can add yourself as a test user. Just know your access token expires super fast and you will have to frequently re-auth. Its crazy annoying.

I pay the $10 and use assistant multiple times a day and never needed the fatter models since for coding I have copilot and Gemini
Lord_Zero··on iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max
An important distinction but I have taken pics of pics, and sometimes its hard to tell I didn't take it directly. So now, its hard to tell I didn't directly take the photo AND its got the stamp of approval.
Lord_Zero··on We are rebuilding Monica
Can you describe what your local DB looks like and how you interact with it with Claude? This seems interesting, a skill or something with clear rules becomes the app logic and Claude the interface?
Lord_Zero··on We are rebuilding Monica
Why is a large non-commercial app somehow immune from the concepts Joel speaks of?
Lord_Zero··on Google Antigravity TOS: 3rd party usage can get Google account suspended
If you have not already, use Google Takeout to download a copy of your data. Especially email, contacts, timeline, google drive, and photos.

Yeah they had gemini extensions, they depreciated them and forked vscode, now they are crawling back to vscode with antigravity extensions...

Where does this definition come from? Or is this just the commonplace accepted definition? For example why is the definition not "A laptop is any self-contained device that can sit wirelessly atop your laptop without the need for any extra peripherals?"
Lord_Zero··on Apple caught off guard by AI demand for Mac Mini and Mac Studio
Oh sweet summer child. These marketing firms(the ones Apple hires) in 2026 are beyond devious.

Same, built on pocketbase too. And rather mature with strong docs now.
Lord_Zero··on Asus Bike Booster
I had a gas powered goped that worked that way years ago. Had all those problems but it was fun. The second you hit any water the drive shaft would just spin against the tire.
Lord_Zero··on Where did the old web go? We followed 657,607 links to find out
The blog mentions "0.mk's revenue did not cover hosting" but then goes on to implement expensive AI integration. Not counting cost for tokens to do the development.

Also:

> Reply to any 0.mk email and the message lands in a feedback queue the AI reads, triages, and acts on

Is this dangerous? What about jailbreaking AIs and having it delete everyone's account?

Lord_Zero··on Show HN: Running server scripts from smartphone via SSH
Does this need a special agent on my server?
Lord_Zero··on Ask HN: Does it still make sense to write code by hand?
Its rare for me now. Most by-hand stuff I do is setting up initial repositories and folders for the base structure I want, copying logos, assets, images, content, and then I tell AI to finish the rest for example.

Configuring secrets for CICD, .env files, hosting configurations/backups.

Writing instructions files, specs, copy/pasting context, requirements, examples.

I see the argument here constantly "But ur skills!". OK. Well back to work actually shipping software using this new tool that is never going away. My client doesn't really care about my skills, just my speed and they have money for me.

Lord_Zero··on Valve open-source the Steam Machine e-ink screen so you can make your own
The real magic is the esp32, it talks to the steam box with Bluetooth. A Linux app sends metrics to the esp32 and it refreshes the display.
