KingFelix··on Can AI design circuit boards yet?
Sweet, do you have the pickguard project live somewhere? I want to check it out!
KingFelix··on The Religious Experience of Philip K. Dick by R. Crumb (1986)
Yeah! read some of your comments, you're def a scifi nerd. Reading any good books at the moment? Just getting through Lems Perfect vacuum, and really like Alan Moores new series. He does such a good job of world building.

Looking for more good books if you have any to recommend!

KingFelix··on The Religious Experience of Philip K. Dick by R. Crumb (1986)
Yeah, I met him actually through a friend because of this project, was great to have him. He's awesome, one reason is because, Dolphins in space!
KingFelix··on The Religious Experience of Philip K. Dick by R. Crumb (1986)
It was really great, Phil's old editor, David Brin, and a few other of Phil's friends came to join. I made a play that was from an interview he did before he passed away, describing an unfinished book. The interviewer also attended, (RIP Doris), What If Our World is Their Heaven. Great book if you're a pkd fan!

Crumb is awesome, he let me use this work in a Philip k Dick event I put on years ago

Sweet!!! Go shred!!! post some music!
KingFelix··on The lost civic life of movie rental stores
Casa video is awesome!! Its been around for ages, so rad to go see it today, its full of DVDs, lots of people playing games and watching movies. Def need some more places like this - Would be cool to do the library version for films, also worked at blockbuster, people would ask me what they should watch and i would get them some solid movies
KingFelix··on Claude Code sends 33k tokens before reading the prompt; OpenCode sends 7k
Interesting, have you tried fable with making the strict plan though, and seeing if that catches all of logic errors ahead of time, and then just sending sonnet out to make the detailed updates? Or are you finding that by having fable implement it still catches things post detailed plan? So many tests to run and try out, trying to figure out to try out next.
KingFelix··on Claude Code sends 33k tokens before reading the prompt; OpenCode sends 7k
Does your detail plan outline exactly what to implement/ lines of code to edit? I found if I get a nice detailed plan that sonnet is good enough to implement. Did you try that before and found fable better at implementing?
KingFelix··on I'm building a Space Cadet Pinball Machine! [video]
Its a good idea, I have found someone working on the same machine I have too, so I am hoping to follow their lead on a few things. The strange thing is this machine is a euro version, so power conversions etc. But for how bad the cabinet is, the inside looks really clean. Gone through cleaning the playfield a bit, but a bit nervous with getting it all up and running without hours of dedicated time on it, I need another engineer friend to come over and tinker with me. Will update when I start making moves on it
KingFelix··on I'm building a Space Cadet Pinball Machine! [video]
Super cool!!! I have a EM pinball in the garage that is calling me to get up and running. The cabinet is trashed but the insides are solid. This will inspire me to get after it today, thank you!
KingFelix··on Half-Life 2 in a Browser
That was fun thank you, haven't played quake 3 in awhile, so many memory neurons firing!
KingFelix··on Google asking many to select a client certificate erroneously
Any updates on this? Seems a bit odd, that Reddit post is deleted and a few others in tech support as well? Not seeing the behavior anymore, but would be nice to know what happened.
KingFelix··on Ask HN: Why hasn't there been a real competitor to Ticketmaster yet?
The cure did this, we got tickets a few days before the shore, bought from reseller directly through ticket master but they could only be relisted at face value, got 8th for $75 I think, it was a great show
KingFelix··on Nvidia RTX Spark
And the top tier QuantumSpark?
KingFelix··on Spotify will start reserving concert tickets for fans
I was a big fan of what the Cure did, they played our town and they did not allow any tickets to be resold for anything above what they originally went for.

Non-transferable I think? But you could resell them via ticketmaster maybe for facevalue?

It was amazing, we sat on the ticketmaster page, refreshed over the course of a day and we got 8th row for I believe $75 - it was an amazing concert, and being able to pay a reasonable price for tickets like that was amazing.

KingFelix··on It is time to give up the dualism introduced by the debate on consciousness
I'll add a comment that hopefully won't get buried. The hard problem that Rovelli is talking was, I think, the first time someone said something in the field of consciousness that people could (at the time) agree on. Not many people were openly discussing in the 90's in academic settings.

It was proposed by Chalmers as a young undergrad at the Science of Consciousness conference. I have been attending for awhile and really enjoy it. There are so many opinions and thoughts on this post, if you are really into thinking about consciousness, this year the conference will be in San Diego. It's a long day of lectures, followed by evenings of great conversations. https://cs2026.org/

Come to Consciousness conference, its where the hard problem started. https://cs2026.org/
KingFelix··on It is time to give up the dualism introduced by the debate on consciousness
Lots of comments here and lots of opinions! the Consciousness conference has been discussing this since 1994, will be in San Diego this October. It is where the actual Hard problem was first proposed by Chalmers, Rovelli was at the conference a few years ago too. https://cs2026.org/ It's a great conference, with lots of interesting people and conversations. Highly recommend

I enjoyed Krishnamurti and David Bohms conversations, they were great.

Thank you for sending me down the Logical Language Group rabbit hole
KingFelix··on Rumors of my death are slightly exaggerated
Sounds a bit like a Philip K Dick story
KingFelix··on The Thinking Plant's Man (2025)
I can't speak to this exact scenario, but also fascinated by time scale / thinking / I am reading Greg Bears Eon at the moment. Super interesting ideas on space/time travel, not exactly related but enjoying it so thought I would share!
KingFelix··on Talking to strangers at the gym
Great quote choice!
KingFelix··on Fermented foods shaped human biology
Cool article, also sad I think I read that Asimov press is going on hiatus of some kind.
KingFelix··on I didn't realize my LG TV was spying on me until I turned off Live Plus
Interesting, ill go down a rabbit hole on this, ACR to detect commercials and activate mute? Or play some spa music, then back to main audio when commercials are over, that would be pretty cool use of ACR
KingFelix··on Think Weirder: The Year's Best SciFi Ideas
Egan has some pretty awesome books, I've read Permutation City and Axiomatic both pretty great.
KingFelix··on Think Weirder: The Year's Best SciFi Ideas
This is really amazing, I was daydreaming recently and thought how cool it would be to create something like that. I am glad that you've taken the initiative to get it going. Looks awesome will check it out, love Greg Bear too, just recommended Blood Music to a good friend.

KingFelix··on Intercellular communication in the brain through a dendritic nanotubular network
Yup, even the Dioso-Penrose limit has two sides. https://arxiv.org/abs/2111.13490

Paraphrasing here: The paper above was looking for energy given off during collapse, (which they did not find) on the Diosi side, where Penrose' idea is more in the retro-causal, you wouldn't find an energy signature. I am sure someone can call out a better representation, but similar to your response that Roger has these ideas and looks for collaborators, but still has his own ideas on things that may differ.

Interesting seeing this conversation going on, Roger / Stuarts work has been trashed over the years, Max Tegmark did the maths and said brain is too wet/warm for any quantum stuff, but we've been finding this in tubulin* and other places, never retracted the paper.

Either way, consciousness is amazing, and a mystery, anyone interested should come to Tucson in April for Towards a science of Consciousness, good conversations, interesting people, usually more questions than answers.
