and visiting the house they built at CES, super boring! The mirror showcasing a very lame feature (when you get close to a speaker it notifies you and asks if you want to connect to it) was much more interesting. So boring, I know they have a google announcement day, but wow, so uninspiring.

Good follow up! separating the actual work done vs write up, the title alone gets people to read it/open it. Roger Penrose said he had released a bunch of papers over the more recent years and the only one that got a bunch of feedback was one where there was a small note about extraterrestrial life.

There is also a great essay written by Andrew Weil ( found in Hallucinogens: A Reader by Charles Grob)who said something similar (if I remember correctly) And that he found it so hard to take knowledge from one realm into the other.

From what I remember Koch and Tononi measure consciousness in Phi ( and phi is complexity) I remember a conversation at Towards a Science of Consciousness conference about this. If Phi is measured in complexity you could make a glass window complex and that is conscious.

Also during Tononi's talk a guy walked through the isle and said something along the lines of 'Phi is the answer, Phi is god, Tononi is our savior'
