IsThisYou··on Ask HN: How did my LastPass master password get leaked?
Isn't that what 2FA is for? An additional "PIN" that changes every couple of seconds.

Also, do not store your 2FA reset codes in the same account as your passwords.

IsThisYou··on Ask HN: How did my LastPass master password get leaked?
> Is the email from LastPass accurate

I don't know LastPass, but is it possible to login and see what emails they sent you? Or maybe see a list of login attempts?

IsThisYou··on I made my first web0 website today. It's so cool it just works
Also <meta name="viewport" ...> didn't exist.

Don't remember if self closing like <br /> was possible in the HTML2 days.

Wait until 2 AM, then reply to your boss with a question about the email.

IsThisYou··on LinkedIn Silently Deleted Several of My Posts
I don't really care about the topic or person, but I dislike it when people claim that somebody else said X and Y and Z, without then linking to the posts or pages. Bad style and easily abused.

That's scary. Also, I am missing Cartman in the list of voices. And Ben Shapiro's voice talks way too slowly :D

Begs the question why we are STILL just begining, more than half a century later.
IsThisYou··on We Are Go for Launch
Googled a few examples from your list, all of them are retired.

Try to find orbiting telescopes that are actually active.

And even if they were all active (which they are not) then it is still just one or two telescopes per EM band. It should be hundreds.

IsThisYou··on Steam has been banned in China
Sorry, I have no idea what you are trying to tell me.
IsThisYou··on We Are Go for Launch
Let's hope for a successful launch and deploy.

But as a comment: I really don't like this kind of "all or nothing" projects. Its extremely risky and if it fails, 20 years would be lost and billions of dollars would be lost. I hope once Starship is ready, some billionaire buys a thousand telescopes, throws them into a Starship and flies them all over the solar system. Seriously, its almost 2022. Why do we still only have 1 telescope up there? Why aren't there 100 telescopes on the dark side of the moon? Why aren't there 1000 space probes on their way to leave the solar system?

Also maybe the genocide in Xinjiang.

The constant attacks against India.

Daily sending war planes into Taiwan's air defense zone.

Using armed fishing vessels to militarily attack the Philippines.

Raiding the fishing grounds of poor countries by turning off transponders and sending hundreds of fishing vessels into their national waters at night.

Destroying world heritage nature reserves to steal fish.

And don't get me started about the crimes the Chinese Communists are doing to the Chinese people...

IsThisYou··on Buying Influence: How China manipulates Facebook and Twitter
> (1/3 of billionaires have died or disappeared)

How did that happen? Iirc, according to Hurun Report 10 years ago, some 80% of the upper class Chinese had an escape plan ready. You'd think, as a billionaire they have a plane waiting for them 24/7 to get out of the country.

> You cannot travel abroad

In the border with Vietnam, at night you can cross the border for 5 yuan on one of the smuggler boats.

> You have little recourse as a woman who is abused by men in power

Only country in the world with more female suicides than male suicides.

Also, no recourse if CCP thugs steal your stuff. Guy I knew had his Ferrari stolen. Couldn't do anything because the thief was a local party functionary's son.

IsThisYou··on Lithuania evacuates its embassy in China
There are so many things, I could write an entire book. So here is one of literally thousands of crimes the CCP commits:

It sends armed fishing boats[0] into the territorial waters of other countries to plunder its fishes. At night, PRC boats turn off their (mandatory) transponders, enter the waters to steal fish, then leave the territorial waters and turn their transponders back on. At times, you can watch it life on marinetraffic.com

For instance, last year a huge fleets of PRC fishing vessels raided the nature reserve around the Galapagos Islands[1] and destroyed much of the fauna around the islands. Same tactic was used, they turn off their transponders, steal what they can, and then turn the transponders back on.

Again, this is just one tiny topic of thousands of crimes the CCP and their thugs commit on a daily basis.

The sooner the Chinese people are freed of that criminal organization, the better. Look at Taiwan: they are Chinese too, and they have one of the best run governments and most democratic systems in the world.

Also, I don't like that questions like your's are downvoted. Its a legitimate question and not everybody has the time to focus on PRC politics and the crimes of the CCP.

Is it a good idea for Google to allow random advertisers to use privacy sensitive code (like audio access or fingerprinting) in advertiser supplied iframe content?

People may be visiting a trusted site and then are asked to allow audio and video, not realising that it is an iframe asking for the permission.

Creators should also upload their content to YT competitors like Odysee or Rumble. They may not make much money there now, but those sites can only grow if creators start using them.

I am subscribed to Nebula too, but that is more of a curated site of already established creators. I'd rather see again the open and free YT of ten years ago.

I still try to understand why anybody would want a logger that executes embedded code and loads remote code from aribtrary web urls. That's like having a toaster that needs regular tire changes so it doesn't run me over.

Or simply add tracker domains to your `/etc/hosts` file and be done with it. This is a list of about 100k known trackers:

And since this is passive blocking (no need to install executables, like add-ons) its probably the safest way to block ads and trackers.
