Sure, they might make the process a bit annoying, but in the end it's always possible to simply jailbreak the device. (not to mention that most 14 year olds know more about technology than their parents)
(They start of with ML and a very simple REPL)
I do not want any content from my phone manufacturer, much less operator. From experience, this is almost exclusively overpriced crap, useless apps or branding.

That said, you should definitely come - C3 is an amazing event, there are always great talks and sessions. If you need some help with German, just ask me ;)
b) why would a company as big as Google care about what a single user does?
Basically, you split your data into blocks, XOR random blocks together and the client can recreate the data by solving the equation of which blocks where XORed with which.
