Well, some people use stuff like these http://mashable.com/2010/12/01/improve-hacker-news-ui/ or these http://talkfast.org/2010/07/23/a-cure-for-hacker-news-overlo...
Ideka··on Google+ Is Going To Mess Up The Internet
The thing is, the pagerank should not matter. What you want when you search the internet is a relevant result, regardless of its pagerank. If the system relies too much in the pagerank to determine whether a site is relevant to your search terms or not, well, yes, the system is broken.
Ideka··on 'sudo make me a sandwich' has become a reality
To think that xkcd can make stuff like this happen...

"Line-ucks"? Isn't it Lee-nucks?
Ideka··on A little game to demonstrate timing attacks.
Hmmm... Linux takes a lot of time to prompt for a password again once an incorrect one has been entered. I'm guessing this may be the reason.
Ideka··on Deep C
Slide 231:

Q: So why doesn't the compiler reorder the members in the structure to optimize memory usage, and execution speed?

A: Some languages actually do that, but C and C++ don't.

And that's because...?

Ideka··on A Tour of Go
(terminating strings with '\0'? yeah, great choice)

Why? What would have been better?

The only alternative I know about is saving the size of the string, but that comes with its own little set of problems.

Ideka··on GNOME 3.2 Released
I don't know if you're being sarcastic but Gnome 3 can do everything you mentioned by default.
Ideka··on GNOME 3.2 Released
It's a Gnome Shell feature. It doesn't work in Gnome 2.
Ideka··on OpenVim: Learn Vim in Your Browser
I use _ for that. It's easier to type (at least in spanish keyboards).
Ideka··on Arch Linux – "It is what you make it"
Actually they aren't maintained by Arch, they are in AUR, and they are maintanied by an Arch user called Hador[1].

I don't know about operating systems, but these folks at Canonical sure know how to make some pretty damn good fonts.

Well, you know what they say: "To make something from scratch, you first have to create the universe". But I get your point, and I agree.

Ideka··on Arch Linux moves up to Linux 3.0
Also note that Arch is a rolling-release OS. The lastest iso (previous to the linux 3.0 one) was released on june/july last year -- that's 15 months ago.
Ideka··on Learn Vim Progressively
Funny. I found out about that early, merely experimenting.

I rarely use it nowadays tough. I used to use it for stuff like "delete up to the next dot" and the like. But that was until I learned about f and t. :)

Ideka··on Your problem with Vim is that you don't grok vi
You forgot to take the conversion rate between clicks and keystrokes into account.

  c = (k.d.t.r) / 13333337

  Where:
    c = click
    k = keystroke
d = distance in centimeters between the "J" key and mouse
t = area to be clicked in pixels²
r = screen resolution in pixels²

It sounds very interesting. I've got to try it sometime :).

Ideka··on Anonymous Pledges to Take Down Facebook
Not sure if it is the first one but: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rp-V47iFoDo It's seems it's even older than I thought.

EDIT: Rough translation:

----

Greetings, world. We are anonymous.

In this short time lapse, we've heard and saw the panic of Facebook progrmmers. It seems that now they are offering US$ 500 to find errors on their webpage. It is clear that nothing of this is real. They only do this to make the world believe that they have the power, and nothing can be done against them. As we have said before, we are tired of Facebook stealing people's information and selling it to powerful people like pieces of paper. This regime has come to an end.

Facebook will cease to exist.

In November 5th the Facebook Operation will take place succesfully, and nothing will be able to stop it.

We are anonymous, we are legion. We don't forget, we don't forgive. Expect us.

----

Now that I listen to it carefully, the way they put it sounds pretty weird, to say the least.

Ideka··on Anonymous Pledges to Take Down Facebook
No, you aren't. In fact if I'm not mistaken, this notice was first released yesterday, in spanish. I'm not 100% sure though.

Ideka··on Most people have no idea what the word hacker means
It's exactly as kragen says. I think he should call himself hacker, and explain why. Altough, of course, it can be a pain having to explain it every time, so it's understandable.
Ideka··on Most people have no idea what the word hacker means
That's just wrong :(.
Ideka··on Urbanisation in Minecraft
Actually, a lot of people have created "cobblestone generators" in Minecraft. They are pretty easy to make, and are infinite and fully automatic (a cobblestone appears, you destroy it, loot it, and another one appears instantly).
Ideka··on Every programmer should read the source to abort() at some point in their life.
You know... just in case.
Ideka··on Learn Python The Hard Way 2nd Edition Released
I checked the first couple of sections, and I'm sure learning Python "the Hard Way" would have been much more exciting than reading the official documentation... Oh, well. What is done is done.
