Heidaradar··on Gemini 4 Argon
I just find this unlikely personally, think about the great research that's happening in the open source world, I'm sure inside anthropic + openai they've also made a bunch of discoveries and improvements (and I'd guess way more due to them attracting the best talent + the better internal models they have)
Heidaradar··on Gemini 4 Argon
Wonder if it's benchmaxxed or not (guessing yes)
Heidaradar··on The Mojo language (by Modular, now Qualcomm) is now open-source
They made a big mistake by not open sourcing before, doubt they'll ever gain traction now.
Heidaradar··on YouTuber Davie504 slapped with ridiculous copyright claim [video]
I remember watching him like 6-7 years ago doing voice overs on random parkour games haha
Heidaradar··on Firefox is now the last major browser that still supports uBlock Origin
I've been using Firefox for over 6 years now and I've never regretted it.
Heidaradar··on Resetting Xbox
I wonder if Sony / Playatation is having the same issues or not
Heidaradar··on Wikipedia cofounder Larry Sanger blocked from editing Wikipedia
did you read the reason why he was blocked? I can't say who's right or wrong but their reasons for blocking him seem to be valid in nature.
Heidaradar··on SpaceX increases almost 30% after biggest IPO
it has also dropped significantly since (around a 19% increase now)
Heidaradar··on What 100k concurrent sandboxes has taught us so far
If they had written it well it likely could've been a good blog which is the saddest part.
Heidaradar··on I switched from VSCode to Zed
do you use ANY AI tools like Claude Code etc? if not, why not?
Heidaradar··on I came back from Cursor to VS Code
To be honest, I'm surprised that people say Claude Code performs THAT much better than Cursor, I found them to be very similar in ability considering that I'm only on Claude Opus 4.5. I prefer cursor because it's easier to go back to previous chats/previous "states".

Also, you CAN choose the same model now in Cursor (as said, I always leave it on Opus 4.5).

Heidaradar··on How I Use Kagi
Do you have the same opinion on companies that are based in israel/give money to israeli companies?

Heidaradar··on Claude can now search the web
Kinda surprised it took them this long to add this feature, but glad it's here now
Heidaradar··on OpenAI Audio Models
is it just me or are these voices clearly AI generated? They've obviously been improving at a steady rate but if I saw a YouTube video that had this voice, I'd instantly stop watching it
Heidaradar··on Ask HN: What's Your Morning Routine?
Yeah I agree, I don't see the point in waking up so early for crossword games either
Heidaradar··on Ask HN: Nearly a year later, how does RustRover compare to VSCode
what "things" is VSCode missing that you used in RustRover?
Heidaradar··on Computer Networks: A Systems Approach (2019)
the textbook is better, I think that might mention it but I don't recall
Heidaradar··on Hacking millions of modems and investigating who hacked my modem
I love how well he explains it, even to someone like me who knows p much nothing about cybersecurity.
Heidaradar··on New BYD Hybrid Can Drive Non-Stop for More Than 2k Kilometers
I wonder how Tesla is going to respond. They might have most of the EV market in the US but if I was looking for my first EV, I wouldn't choose them.
Heidaradar··on OpenAI pulls Johansson soundalike Sky’s voice from ChatGPT
Honestly, I thought it sounded a bit like her initially but I don't like her voice anyway. I thought it sounded awful in Her.

Heidaradar··on The AI expert who cited himself thousands of times on scientific paper
you could get a friend/family member to do the same thing though (they cite each other thousands of times)
Heidaradar··on First human to receive implant from Neuralink is able to control a mouse
why's that? Personally, I'm a bit suspicious because: a) it "works" first time b) there's no evidence shown from Elon

Heidaradar··on Launch HN: Dart (YC W22) – Project management with automatic report generation
Cool idea but maybe naming it after a commonly used word (thinking specifically of the programming language) was a bad idea?
Heidaradar··on Ask HN: Looking for ML side project ideas
sent you an email!
Heidaradar··on Ask HN: Looking for ML side project ideas
Updated description* hopefully it provides more context.
Heidaradar··on Ask HN: What stocks / indices does HackerNews invest in?
I guess my main motivation is building weath in the long term, but thanks for the advice!
