Thank you! Some really valuable advice there. How was the bootcamp for you? Was securing a job afterwords part of the problem? How did you afford room + board in SF? I've considered going through one of the programs that promise a job after the fact but historically I've been hesitant for a number of reasons.

I actually just created a LinkedIn a few days ago with hopes that it would help. How did you go about populating your profile and connecting with people exactly? Right now my page more or less just exists and I'm not sure what to post or how to make new connections.

Well that's somewhat comforting at least. It just feels so normalized here on HN but the demographics are understandably skewed.

I'm generally able to adapt to new languages and technologies relatively quickly. I'm able to build at least simple applications from scratch and have at least basic understanding of all the component parts and how they fit together. I'm generally able to measure the benefits and drawbacks of individual pieces of technology and where to make certain tradeoffs when architecting an application.

Now, I still have a lot to learn and I'm sure I can't do the above tasks anywhere near as well as an experienced Sr. Developer, but based on others anecdotal experience at least this doesn't seem to be common in many Jr. devs
