GreenWatermelon··on F-Droid 2.0
Hmm? what do you mean? installed apps are now available in "My Apps", 3rd button in the navigation bar after the update.

Are you talking about pre-2.0 versions?

GreenWatermelon··on Claude Opus 5.5
The Astra Minecraft clone is the only one that I could actually play on mobile.

They train. Deepseek doesn't have a Zero Data Retention policy, but for many personal tasks I'm (not parent) ok with them having this data if it means better, cheaper models for everyone on the future.

Different story with $DAYJOB where ZDR matters, but the beauty of open models is that you can find a provider hosting them in your preferred terms.

GreenWatermelon··on OpenJev
They have it in English. It's called "word vomit"
GreenWatermelon··on OpenJev
Also useful words: succinct, concise. Sometimes I use both. Maybe I'll ise all three: be succinct, terse, and concise.
GreenWatermelon··on We must pace the frontier
This reads too much like a Soviet Russia joke. The irony is intense.
GreenWatermelon··on Shopify acquires Tailwind
> Tailwind is a ~~load-bearing~~ very important part of the stack

This is beautiful. Art, even. And it speaks to my very soul.

GreenWatermelon··on Claude, change the “Add to Cart” button to blue
I've come to call this language "Claudese English" (or Claudish)

Recently I've started using GLM models and noticed they aren't very claudish (just a little bit, compared to DeepSeek which is extremely claudish)

GreenWatermelon··on DeepSeek launching v4.1 flash cheaper and more capable than v4 pro
I received an email for it.
GreenWatermelon··on GUIs should be fully keyboard-driven
OCR now comes built in with Spectacle, the default screenshot utility for KDE Plasma and it can copy the result right away.
GreenWatermelon··on GLM-5.3-Flash
I've recently started PI, and after installing a couple extensions + writing a couple more it became enough for me. All I need is just a plan mode, and I installed that.
GreenWatermelon··on GLM-5.3-Flash
I'm in the same boat. I haven't found sub agents flows useful.
GreenWatermelon··on Compression is prediction
It's less witch-hunting and more AI-text-fatigue and consequently, overtuned brain-alarms to alert us against the danger of wasting time. That it's triggered by the benign smoke of a rice cooker is an unfortunate side effect.

Honestly — it's annoying — and you're right to pushback on this. One Caveat worth mentioning: AI fatigue is real, and worth handling. It directly affects what's load bearing in the community — The discussion itself.

The fact that I can produce the previous paragraph is evidence enough that LLMs are frying my brain.

GreenWatermelon··on DeepSeek API Pricing Update
Have you considered spending less in candles?
GreenWatermelon··on DeepSeek API Pricing Update
Everything is per 1 million tokens.
GreenWatermelon··on Every Fucking Website (2020)
I always assume they're lies. In fact, I default to assuming every marketing tactic purely presents lies and the goal is to get my money by any means possible.
GreenWatermelon··on It's getting harder to focus every day
I prefer to read HN on Firefox Android. If I so much as blink away from the browser the page refreshes and I lose spot in the thread.

The comment box is a unique piece of cursed garbage. For starters, it's monospace when the end result isn't monospace, the first time I focus the box autocorrect/suggestions won't work. I have to focus away/back again for it to work. It has no misspelling highlight so my comments always end up with a steady trickle of misspellings.

I can't believe how a textboox on a supposedly hacker-oriented no-frills link aggregator can be this broken.

GreenWatermelon··on Advertise in ChatGPT
On the other hand, your comment sounds to me like Anti-Kagi astroturfing.
GreenWatermelon··on Advertise in ChatGPT
Do you instead, want it poured to companies in the US, A country that invades other countries and bombs schools and hospitals? And is currently supporting another country ALSO engaging in war crimes abd headed by an internationally wanted criminal?
GreenWatermelon··on Advertise in ChatGPT
So it's ok if they invade far-away countries, napalm bomb them leading to millions of casualties, but not ok to invade neighboring countries?

The US is responsible for far more pain and suffering in my nock of the world, so it's funny when Americans act like they have some sort of moral high ground.

GreenWatermelon··on LG monitors silently install software through Windows Update without consent
Strong "Our righteous telemetery vs Their barbaric spyware" vibes
GreenWatermelon··on LineageOS Statistics
Mine is Mi 9T, and I've been running Lineage OS for years now. Its codename is Davinci and according to dtats, it has almost 2k installs.
GreenWatermelon··on Microsoft fire idTech team at Id software
Windows is pretty much speed running into gaming irrelevance. Valve is gaining momentum as days pass and Microsoft doesn't care enough.
GreenWatermelon··on Half-Baked Product
i.e. the world running on scams, or rather, despite scams.
GreenWatermelon··on The bottleneck might be the air in the room
And Here is the uncomfortable part: The LLM smell in your article is obvious. Not only will people notice, but they will severely denounce the article. Absolutely Shame.
GreenWatermelon··on The bottleneck might be the air in the room
Myeter started tingling at "Not the people. The room." On the first paragraph, and reached maximums level at the same part as you.

Feels like I wasted time reading bullshit.

GreenWatermelon··on Physical disc production ending in Jan 2028 for new games on PlayStation
At his point, buy the SteamMachine if it's available on your region and get the same couch-experience.
GreenWatermelon··on Physical disc production ending in Jan 2028 for new games on PlayStation
Unity is publicly traded, Valve is privately-owned and Engineer-led and Gabe is handsoff according to all current reporting, so I think Valve is still good for the foreseeable future.

In fact, it's thanks to Valve that I no longer need windows to run games and have finally nuked it from my system a bit over a year ago.

So yeah, nothin remains good forever, but credit where it's due, and Valve's DRM is cosmetic at best, and trivial to bypass.

GreenWatermelon··on Denmark desperately needs more inequality
DHH never ceases to amaze me with how despicable his non-tech views are.
GreenWatermelon··on Apple's weird anti-nausea dots cured my car sickness
This is one hell of a trivia.
