MX518 for life, this mouse has been used daily for over 10 years and I have a spare one just in case I need to replace some pieces, which never happened so far.

I do no longer use it for gaming since its now outclassed but it is now being use in my office and may one day die in peace after such a long life span.

I wish they would upgrade the internals and keep the same design which is honestly reliable and comfortable, I have never owned a mouse which fits my hand like this one does.

You couldn’t have said it better, I had the same kind of learning path as you did and I believe it makes everything a lot easier to understand since you can clearly see the full spectrum of what you are dealing with while programming and usually it helps open new doors so you can explore a problem from a different angle since you have a deep knowledge of your stack available to you from the start.

I have no once of guilt related to blocking ads, if you can't pay the upkeep of your website and you haven't found any meaningful way for user contributions then that's on you and if you still serve ads because that's the only sane solution for your monetary problem then you should expect some users to block those ads and conclude that both parties did what they thought was best given this horrible situation.

KeePass + VeraCrypt container, never failed me. Before that I used TrueCrypt but it is no longer trustable.

I paid for a VPN service in 2011 for 0.19 BTC / (~5$ USD or something back then) which is now worth over $3300 USD at today's price...to me it shows that we are not dealing with a currency, if all you can do is hold and avoid spending it in fear of "losing" money then it has no real value except selling at the right time so someone else can buy your share, hold it and eventually sell it and so forth..

Yeah it is a problem, and so far the way most companies fixed this issue is by releasing a 'lite' version which of course is probably not feature complete but will be significantly faster to update and load.

If you are on a good network you probably won't ever notice such bloat until you run out of disk space or bust your download limit (Canada)

If I find an app to be too big for my taste I normally fall back to the web version if it exist at all but even then its hit or miss because sometimes the web app is pure complete garbage or worse than the app itself.

Good to know, this is not our use case at the moment, we mostly generate PDF of 2-3 pages long.

I have been using it for almost 2 years on a production server to generate html orders to PDF on the fly, such an amazing tool.

PhantomJS enabled us at the time to bootstrap a big project at work where at the end workflow the app had to turn HTML orders to PDF on the fly, eventually we moved to WKHTMLTOPDF (https://wkhtmltopdf.org/) which is much less hungry with resources but nonetheless PhantomJS played a huge role during the early days of the project and was easy to setup. If I remember correctly the only down side was to find the correct format for our HTML template so PhantomJS would render proper page break and repeat the header for super long orders.

I can understand why stepping down is the right decision, maintaining such project by himself is an amazing feat on its own and even more when it proves to be useful for so many companies. Sadly when it becomes your second job you might always be on the lookout for a clean exit and such opportunity just became a reality.

Yes I still do, at this moment I have 3413 bookmarks across different folders, coding, work, recipes, Gaming, etc.

I am currently running Bookmark Checker (chrome extension) and did set the parameters to "error connect" and at this very moment it is reporting : "Bookmark check status: Total bookmarks : 2238 of 3413 error connect: 2117"

Exactly, they could be doing some kind of hacking tools rotation by burning all the ones which are most likely to get patch shortly because they have been reported and thrown in with a mix of obsolete tools which have been already been replaced by more efficient attack vectors and at the same time burning a big bag of tricks for all the other nations already using these vectors or in the process of developping such techniques/tools.

Technically if the female pond turtle could get off the map by dissapearing and being replaced whilst pregnant it could spawn additional turtles slowly.

Fish are very visible with ASCII symbols and can be seen in murky ponds and rivers for periods of time if a example is needed, if they are close together they are in the capacity to breed and keep the numbers up. Drop a sizable amount of caught vermin fish into a empty pool and it should sustain the fish in theory as they repopulate with compatible mates in that area.

Similar designs have been used with isolated cave spider rooms with wild vermin which appear to be self sustainable and harvested with burrowed animal trappers & web collectors. "
